Job description

GovCIO is currently hiring for Test Lead to support the Readiness and Employment System (RES) contract within the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. This position will be a fully remote role.
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment to ensure that the product will perform to specifications. Plans and arranges the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating the product. Designs test cases for test plans and creates test scenarios in which tests are carried out. Compiles data, defines required changes and reports defects and problems that occurred during the test process. Implements and participates in the walkthrough of the product. Automated testing may be used for leveling based on hiring manager discretion. Previous supervisory management of a testing team is required.
  • Consults with the development and/or requirements team to coordinate and test applications.
  • Performs analysis, diagnostics and preliminary evaluations of products.
  • Develops testing procedures.
  • Develops test plans, scripts, scenarios, functional tests, regression tests, and deployment tests.
  • Implements the testing processes and ensures all test activities follow those processes.
  • Produces reports on each test activity and tracks test metrics.
  • Monitors for continual test process improvement through failure analysis, throughput analysis, yield analysis, and report to management periodically.

Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's with 8+ years (or commensurate experience)
  • Supervisory and management experience with a testing team
  • Excellent skills with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Jira, Jira JQL, Confluence
  • Strong documenting skills

Clearance Requirement: Suitability/Public Trust
  • Candidates must be
    • U.S. citizens
    • Permanent residents that have resided continuously in the United States for a minimum of three (3) consecutive years immediately preceding their start date with GovCIO, as this uninterrupted residency is required to meet federal background investigation standards

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology and project lifecycle management
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Jira or other test management tools
