About the Role:

XTIUM is looking for a Tax Accountant to support tax compliance with a strong emphasis on accurate billing, customer support, and crossfunctional collaboration. This role requires hands-on experience withSureTaxandWorkday, and frequent interaction withBilling, Customer Success, Sales Operations, and customersto resolve taxrelated questions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the coordination, preparation, and review of all company-wide tax filings, including Federal, State, and international corporate income tax returns, Sales & Use Tax, Gross Receipts Tax, Property Tax, USAC, and VAT filings.
  • Prepare, review, and filesales & use tax returnsfor technology services across multiple jurisdictions
  • Act as a tax subject-matter expert forcustomer tax questions, including billing discrepancies, taxability inquiries, and exemption reviews
  • Partner withBilling, Customer Success, Sales, Finance, and Product teamsto ensure accurate tax calculation and issue resolution
  • Support configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting ofSureTaxto ensure proper tax determination and billing accuracy
  • UtilizeWorkdayto support tax reporting, account reconciliations, data analysis, and audit support
  • Ensure alignment between tax rules, billing systems, and customer contracts
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all tax audits and inquiries from taxing authorities
  • Manage responses to notices and assessments, ensuring timely and appropriate resolution
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate tax risks while maintaining strong internal controls over tax processes
  • Reconcile sales & use tax accounts and support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Monitor changes in state and local telecom tax regulations and assess operational and customer impact
  • Identify and recommend process and system improvements to enhance compliance, efficiency, and customer experience
  • Manage relationships with external advisors, including Big 4 firms, to support corporate and indirect tax compliance and planning

Job Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience insales & use tax
  • Hands-on experience with SureTax(required)
  • Experience working within Workdayfor financial reporting, reconciliations, or tax-related analysis
  • Strong knowledge of multi-state indirect tax compliance and telecom-specific taxes
  • Experience interfacing withcustomersand resolving tax-related billing questions
  • Proven ability to collaborate withBilling, Customer Success, Sales, and IT teams
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-tax stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA, CMI, or other indirect tax certification
  • Experience supporting enterprise customers or customer audits
  • Additional ERP or billing system experience

The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $125,000/annually. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location.
