Network Grooming / Provisioning Engineer

Seeking an experienced Network Engineer with a strong background in telecom network provisioning, grooming, traffic migration, and network decommissioning activities. This role will support Verizon network modernization initiatives by preparing, testing, provisioning, and migrating customer traffic from legacy network elements within central office environments.
The engineer will primarily support Layer 1 technologies including SONET and TDM transport networks while collaborating with field technicians, network operations teams, and program leadership to execute maintenance windows, activations, implementations, and traffic cutovers. Candidates must be comfortable working a rotating 24x7 schedule and have experience with Verizon provisioning and maintenance systems.

1. Telecom Network Provisioning & Grooming
- 8+ years of experience performing telecom network provisioning, traffic grooming, activations, implementations, and maintenance activities.
2. Network Migration / Turn-Down Experience
- Hands-on experience with network decommissioning, traffic migrations, circuit turn-downs, and customer cutover activities.
3. Layer 1 Transport Technologies
- Strong experience supporting:
- SONET (OC3, OC12, OC48, OC192)
- TDM Transport
- DS0, DS1, DS3
- PRI
- Voice Trunks
4. Transport Equipment Experience
- Hands-on experience with at least several of the following:
- Ciena 6500
- Fujitsu Flashwave
- Nortel Optera
- Nortel DXC
- Telabs
- Alcatel Titan
5. Verizon Systems & Central Office Environment
- Experience working within central office environments.
- Experience using Verizon tools such as:
- BGW
- TCOMS
- Maintenance Tracker
