Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Head of People based in Netherlands.

In this strategic leadership role, you will shape and scale the people function within a high-growth, globally distributed technology organization. You will be responsible for building a world-class recruiting engine while evolving the broader People Operations, talent development, and organizational design frameworks that support rapid expansion. Acting as a key advisor to executive leadership, you will help define how the company attracts, develops, and retains exceptional talent in a competitive global market. This is a hands-on leadership position, requiring both strategic vision and operational execution across recruiting, performance management, and workforce planning. You will play a critical role in maintaining a high talent bar while enabling sustainable growth. The environment is fast-paced, data-driven, and deeply focused on building strong teams and scalable systems.

Accountabilities
  • Lead and scale the end-to-end People function, including Recruiting and People Operations, across a globally distributed organization.
  • Design and execute a high-impact recruiting strategy that ensures consistent access to top-tier talent while preserving high talent density.
  • Partner with executive leadership on workforce planning, organizational design, compensation strategy, and headcount prioritization.
  • Build and continuously improve performance management, leadership development, and career progression frameworks.
  • Oversee and enhance hiring operations, candidate experience, and recruiter effectiveness through scalable systems and processes.
  • Develop data-driven metrics and reporting to improve visibility into hiring performance and overall organizational health.
  • Drive the adoption of automation and AI-enabled workflows across recruiting and People Operations.
  • Maintain and evolve company culture, ensuring alignment with values and operational principles during periods of rapid growth.
  • Collaborate closely with Finance and leadership teams on compensation planning and organizational investments.
  • Mentor and develop the People team, fostering strong execution, ownership, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in People leadership, recruiting, talent acquisition, or People Operations within high-growth technology companies.
  • Proven experience building and scaling recruiting functions in fast-moving, talent-dense environments.
  • Strong background in partnering with executive leadership on organizational design, workforce planning, and talent strategy.
  • Experience managing and developing high-performing People or Recruiting teams.
  • Deep understanding of modern recruiting systems, talent operations, and performance management frameworks.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive decisions and optimize processes.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and executive influencing skills.
  • Hands-on leadership style with the ability to operate across both strategic and operational levels.
  • Experience working in distributed or remote-first organizations.
  • Strong interest in AI-enabled tools and workflows for recruiting and People Operations transformation.
  • Bonus: experience in SaaS, developer tools, fintech, or similarly fast-scaling technology environments.
Benefits
  • Competitive equity package in a high-growth, venture-backed technology company.
  • Fully remote and flexible working environment.
  • 4-5 weeks of recommended annual time off for rest and recovery.
  • Home office setup allowance and annual learning & development stipend.
  • Long-term equity exercise window (up to 10 years).
  • Opportunity to shape and scale a global People function at a pivotal stage of growth.
  • Strong culture of ownership, high performance, and continuous improvement.
  • Exposure to executive decision-making and strategic company building at scale.
