Job description

What We Need

Corpay is seeking a Director, Corporate Strategy to help shape and execute the company's global growth agenda. This role will sit at the intersection of corporate strategy, business line strategy, CEO-sponsored initiatives, partnerships, and corporate development support.

The Director will operate as an internal strategy partner to Corpay's CEO, senior leadership team, and business leaders, helping answer high-priority growth and operating questions through rigorous analysis, market research, competitive intelligence, product benchmarking, business case development, and executive-ready recommendations. The role will own CEO-priority initiatives and special projects, support mid-term growth planning, lead workstreams for senior leadership strategy offsites, and help advance partnership studies and M&A strategy.

The ideal candidate is a structured problem solver with strong analytical horsepower, excellent communication skills, and the ability to move from ambiguous questions to clear recommendations and practical execution plans. The team will use modern analytical, research, and AI-enabled tools to improve the speed and quality of its work, but the core mandate is strategy ownership, executive problem solving, and high-quality project execution.

Prior experience in M&A, corporate development, investment banking, or transaction diligence is a plus, but not required.

    • Supporting mid-term growth strategy planning, including CEO and senior leadership offsites, business line strategy sessions, and follow-up execution rhythms.
    • Translating ambiguous strategic questions into structured workplans, clear analyses, and practical recommendations.
  • Internal Consulting & CEO Special Projects
    • Serving as an internal consulting partner to the CEO, senior leadership team, and Corpay business lines on high-priority growth, product, market, partnership, and operating questions.
    • Developing market sizing, business cases, forecasts, competitor profiles, product benchmarks, performance analyses, CEO updates, and executive presentations.
    • Synthesizing complex findings into concise decision memos, presentation materials, CEO-ready updates, and senior leadership discussion documents.
    • Owning multiple strategic workstreams with strong project discipline, stakeholder communication, and follow-through from problem definition through recommendation and execution planning.
  • Partnerships & Build / Buy / Partner Strategy
    • Evaluating build, buy, and partner paths for new growth initiatives, product adjacencies, market entries, and distribution opportunities.
    • Conducting partnership studies, identify potential partners, assess strategic fit, and help shape partnership concepts.
    • Partnering with business line, product, technology, finance, legal, and external stakeholders to move selected opportunities from idea to launch plan.
  • M&A Strategy & Corporate Development Support
    • Supporting M&A strategy by identifying priority markets, strategic themes, potential targets, and acquisition rationales.
    • Building market maps, target profiles, strategic fit assessments, and diligence support materials.
    • Partnering with corporate development, finance, legal, and business leaders on transaction-related analysis when needed.
    • Helping connect acquisition, partnership, and organic growth opportunities into a coherent view of Corpay's growth strategy.
  • External Consultants & Advisors
    • Scoping, source, and manage external consultants or advisors for selected strategic projects.
    • Defining problem statements, deliverables, timelines, and quality expectations.
    • Ensuring external work is translated into practical recommendations and internal capability-building.

  • Strong relationship-building skills and ability to work effectively with senior leaders, business operators, product teams, finance, technology, legal, and external partners.
  • High ownership, intellectual curiosity, attention to detail, discretion, and willingness to do hands-on work.
