The Novelis Corporate Strategy team is seeking a Senior Analyst, Corporate Strategy! The person in this role will report to the Director/Manager, Corporate Strategy. The Corporate Strategy team serves the Novelis Executive Team in answering the most pressing strategic questions of the organization. The team is responsible for handling the annual strategic planning process, leading quarterly enterprise risk management, driving M&A, making investments in new ventures, monitoring the market and competitive landscape, and delivering high quality strategic analyses on an ad hoc basis for the Executive Team, among others. 

 

This Sr Strategy Analyst will: 

  • Join project teams to solve the most pressing global and regional strategy questions 
  • Have significant exposure to our CEO, CFO, CSSO, and other ExCom members 
  • Support work on strategy topics e.g., 5-year strategic and CapEx plan, Enterprise Risk Management, M&A, Competitive Intelligence, Venture Investments, and Business Continuity Planning 
  • Grow quickly and develop a strong toolkit in data analysis, financial modeling, problem-solving, executive presentations/communication 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Support the annual strategic planning process in close collaboration with regional and corporate partners 
  • Help collaborate with cross-functional and cross-regional resources to align on key assumptions and recommendations 
  • Prepare logical and stylistically clean presentation content to communicate recommendations to senior Novelis partners 
  • Apply structured problem-solving skills to resolve ambiguous and contentious topics 
  • Support quarterly ERM process that includes interviewing partners across the organization, synthesizing the findings, and preparing content for senior partner discussions including the Board of Directors 
  • Support regional and functional leaders in preparing business continuity plans using a structured and consistent methodology 
  • Support Corporate M&A team in acquisitions, divestitures, and venture investments as required 
  • Develop financial models, perform market analysis and develop cases to confirm the value (or not) of these opportunities 

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, or a related field 
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in management consulting, banking, or strategy, business development, finance or a related function in a corporate setting 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Confirmed ability at gathering and synthesizing data from internal and external sources 
  • Proficiency in building financial models with relevant metrics e.g., NPV, IRR, payback 
  • Confirmed written and verbal communication skills, including experience speaking publicly to and working with senior leaders 
  • Meticulous, self-starter who is assertive, principled, and flexible 
  • Excellent organization and ability to handle projects in a structured way 
  • Ability to positively lead change in response to shifting demands, as well as multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, and is comfortable with ambiguity 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience developing and Presenting material to a senior-level audience 
  • International experience (work experience or study abroad) 
  • Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills 
  • Familiarity with PowerBI and similar reporting tools
