  • Provide trauma-informed counseling for clients, tailoring your approach to meet the unique needs of individuals, couples, and families.
  • Incorporate biblical counseling principles for clients who desire faith-based guidance, creating a safe space for spiritual exploration and healing.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on clients' specific goals and challenges, utilizing a range of therapeutic modalities.
  • Engage with local churches to provide counseling services to assigned clients, establishing a network of collaboration within the community.
  • Actively participate in community outreach initiatives to expand your client base and create new referral sources.
  • Maintain accurate and timely client records, ensuring that progress notes are entered into our Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.
  • Communicate proactively with the center director regarding your availability, scheduling preferences, and case load management.

Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in counseling, social work, or a related field is required.
  • Must hold an independent licensure as an LPC, LMFT, or LCSW in Washington, D.C.
  • Solid understanding of the Bible and biblical counseling techniques is essential.
  • Current supervision or progress toward licensure is preferred if you do not yet possess a D.C. license.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to engage effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • A compassionate and empathetic approach is paramount to success in this role, as is the commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards.
Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of 1 year of trauma counseling experience is required.
  • Dual licensure in Virginia or Maryland is highly desirable.
  • Willingness to undergo basic EMDR training within three months of hire is expected, although prior training is an asset.
  • Familiarity with various therapeutic modalities and interventions that contribute to successful client outcomes.
