Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly clients, determining their emotional and psychological care needs.
• Provide individualized therapy sessions and facilitate group counseling aimed at addressing the emotional challenges associated with aging, including managing loss and adjustment to life transitions.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement tailored care plans that enhance the overall well-being of geriatric residents.
• Educate families and care staff on effective strategies to support the mental health needs of older adults, promoting better understanding and meaningful engagement.
• Facilitate grief counseling sessions for residents and their families, guiding them through the psychological impact of end-of-life matters.
• Implement cognitive stimulation and therapeutic programs designed to enhance mental acuity and emotional resilience in elderly clients.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role includes working with seniors coping with various mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, and adjustment disorders. Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• Active and valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) designation in Florida.
• A minimum of 4 years of recent experience providing mental health support to geriatric populations.
• Specialized training or certification related to geriatric mental health and associated aging issues.
• Proven experience delivering counseling services addressing mental health challenges in older adults.

Compensation and Benefits
