Job Description
The Telecommunications / Audio Visual is responsible for the design, implementation, support, and maintenance of the organization's telecommunications and audio-visual technology infrastructure across clinical, administrative, and operational environments. This role supports enterprise voice systems, conferencing platforms, AV integrations, paging systems, collaboration technologies, and associated network-connected communication systems.
The engineer will work closely with IT Infrastructure, Clinical Operations, Facilities, and external vendors to ensure reliable communication services and modern collaboration experiences throughout the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support and maintain enterprise telecommunications systems including VoIP, call routing, voicemail, contact center technologies, and unified communications platforms.
  • Design, implement, configure, and troubleshoot AV systems for conference rooms, boardrooms, training spaces, digital signage, and other collaboration environments.
  • Manage and support Microsoft Teams Rooms, conferencing systems, cameras, microphones, speakers, wireless presentation systems, and associated AV hardware/software.
  • Coordinate installation and maintenance activities with vendors, facilities teams, and external contractors.
  • Support overhead paging systems, emergency communication systems, and integrated communication technologies.
  • Assist with network connectivity and troubleshooting for telecommunications and AV devices.
  • Participate in infrastructure modernization initiatives involving voice, video, wireless, and collaboration technologies.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, diagrams, standards, and operational procedures.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively address service interruptions or degradation.
  • Participate in on-call support and operational escalation processes when required.
  • Ensure telecommunications and AV systems comply with organizational security, operational, and reliability standards.
  • Collaborate with leadership and operational stakeholders to identify technology improvement opportunities and enhance end-user experience.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience supporting telecommunications and/or AV technologies in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience with VoIP platforms, unified communications, conferencing systems, and AV technologies.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Teams, Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, or similar collaboration platforms.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, VLANs, QoS, and wireless networking.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in healthcare or highly regulated environments preferred.
  • Experience with Cisco collaboration technologies, paging systems, and enterprise AV integrations.
  • Familiarity with structured cabling, low-voltage systems, and conference room standards.
  • Industry certifications such as CTS, CCNA, Microsoft Teams certifications, or related credentials preferred.
