Centuria Behavioral Health Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic team in a fully remote capacity. Work Environment

As a fully remote position, this role allows for flexibility in your work schedule while utilizing modern technology to connect with clients. This environment supports work-life balance and provides a comprehensive platform for delivering therapy, conducting assessments, and facilitating group sessions. You will utilize electronic health record systems such as AVATAR to document client interactions effectively and ensure seamless communication with other health professionals. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive preliminary interviews to gather detailed background information and document findings from the initial consultation through to the conclusion of treatment.
  • Evaluate clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health using standardized assessment tools and clinical judgment.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans that may include crisis intervention, psychoeducation, and therapeutic techniques tailored to the needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based methodologies to promote healing and coping strategies.
  • Monitor and document client progress consistently, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to align with recovery goals.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams comprising psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers to coordinate comprehensive care and intervention plans for clients.
  • Provide follow-up support for clients transitioning from inpatient settings and ensure continuity of care.
  • Assist families and primary caregivers in understanding mental health challenges, fostering a supportive atmosphere for client recovery.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The role involves working with a broad spectrum of clients, including children, adolescents, adults, and families experiencing various mental health conditions. Our focus is on creating a nurturing environment where individuals can explore their challenges, whether rooted in anxiety, depression, trauma, or other mental health issues. You will engage with clients from diverse backgrounds, emphasizing cultural sensitivity and understanding in all interactions.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW within the state of Georgia.
  • A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage clinical cases effectively and empathetically.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with an aptitude for documentation and report writing.
Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of three years of clinical experience as a mental health counselor, with a proven track record of success in client outcomes.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to maintain accurate and compliant client records.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and familiarity with trauma-informed care practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of psychotropic medications and their interactions with mental health treatment.
  • Understanding of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) guidelines and practices.
