Job description

About Cleerly

We're Cleerly โ€“ a healthcare company that's revolutionizing how heart disease is diagnosed, treated, and tracked. We were founded in 2017 by one of the world's leading cardiologists and are a growing team of world-class engineering, operations, medical affairs, marketing, and sales leaders. We raised $223M in Series C funding in 2022 which has enabled rapid growth and continued support of our mission. In December 2024 we received an additional $106M in a Series C extension funding. Most of our teams work remotely and have access to our offices in Denver, Colorado, New, York, New York, Dallas, Texas, and Lisbon, Portugal with some roles requiring you to be on-site in a location.

Cleerly has created a new standard of care for heart disease through value-based, AI-driven precision diagnostic solutions with the goal of helping prevent heart attacks. Our technology goes beyond traditional measures of heart disease by enabling comprehensive quantification and characterization of atherosclerosis, or plaque buildup, in each of the heart arteries. Cleerly's solutions are supported by more than a decade of performing some of the world's largest clinical trials to identify important findings beyond symptoms that increase a person's risk of heart attacks.

At Cleerly, we collaborate digitally and use a wide variety of systems. Our people use Google Workspace (GMail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides), Slack, Confluence/Jira, and Zoom Video, prior experience in these areas is a plus. Role or department specific technology needs may vary and will be listed as requirements in the job description.

While we are mostly a remote company, travel is required for some team meetings and cross function projects typically once per month or once per quarter, for some roles like sales or external facing roles travel could be up to 90% of the time.
Cleerly is committed to providing safe and effective medical software that meets customer needs and our intended use. The adherence to all applicable regulatory and statutory requirements establishes a clear framework for setting measurable quality objectives. Our commitment to continually improving our products and processes proactively manages risks, ensuring ongoing compliance throughout the entire software lifecycle. Understanding this role's relevance and importance is critical to achieving Cleerly's quality objectives.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Program Manager, Strategy to lead execution of Cleerly's highest-priority growth initiatives, partnerships, and commercialization efforts. This role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution, partnering across Commercial, Product, Medical Affairs, Clinical Operations, Marketing, Customer Success, and Finance to bring new programs to life.

This is not a traditional project management role. We are looking for someone who thrives in ambiguity, brings structure to complex and undefined problems, and builds the strategy, operating model, and execution rigor needed to move programs forward. Success requires strong program management instincts, analytical thinking, financial acumen, executive communication, and an ownership-driven mindset. Comfort engaging with clinical stakeholders and workflows is a plus, but the core of the role is strategic program management: translating complexity into clear plans, driving multiple workstreams, and ensuring initiatives meet operational, adoption, and financial goals.

About the Team

The Strategic Programs team is built to help Cleerly move faster on the opportunities that matter most. We work alongside executive and functional leaders to clarify priorities, make smart tradeoffs, connect the right stakeholders, and ensure critical initiatives move from concept to execution with discipline and momentum.

This team is small, highly trusted, and expected to operate with strong judgment and independence. Must-haves include executive-level communication, commercial intuition, financial and operational discipline, accountability, and the ability to challenge assumptions while still driving alignment. We need someone who can think strategically, operate practically, and be a true thought partner โ€” not someone who waits for direction or simply tracks activity.

Responsibilities

  • Lead execution of high-priority strategic initiatives and partnerships, often starting from an undefined problem.
  • Design new programs from first principles โ€” strategy, milestones, financial impact โ€” not just manage ones that already exist.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment across Commercial, Product, Medical Affairs, Clinical Operations, Marketing, Customer Success, and Finance.
  • Build relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, including clinical and provider audiences where relevant.
  • Proactively surface risks and dependencies, including clinical or workflow-related ones, and develop solutions before being asked.
  • Build governance structures, implementation frameworks, and project plans that scale.
  • Drive accountability across teams to hit commitments and timelines.
  • Analyze performance data to generate insights and inform decisions.
  • Develop executive-level reporting, KPIs, and financial analyses for leadership.
  • Evaluate program performance through ROI and cost-benefit analysis; recommend meaningful success metrics, including clinical/quality endpoints where applicable.
  • Participate in strategic planning and identify new growth opportunities.

Who We're Looking For

REQUIREMENT: A proactive, solutions-driven self-starter who doesn't wait to be told what to do โ€” who anticipates needs, brings recommendations, and owns progress when the path forward isn't always clear. They possess strong operational instincts, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to balance strategic thinking with detailed execution.

This role is for someone who:

  • Loves strategic development โ€” figuring out what a program should be, not just running it.
  • Treats ambiguity as a feature of the work, not an obstacle.
  • Is naturally solutions-oriented: sees a problem, proposes a fix.
  • Can credibly engage clinical stakeholders and translate clinical nuance into commercial/operational strategy โ€” a strong plus, not a requirement.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years managing complex, large-scale, cross-functional projects or programs โ€” ideally including experience building new programs or initiatives from the ground up, not just running established ones.
  • Demonstrated experience operating with significant autonomy and ambiguity, with a track record of bringing structure and strategy to undefined problems.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Proven ability to communicate and build credibility with Senior Leadership; excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent written and oral skills.

Skills & Abilities

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and understanding of group dynamics.
  • Successful track record of establishing credibility and trust with a diverse, high caliber group.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, creative problem solving, judgment, and negotiating skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Energy and enthusiasm consistent with working in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to remain organized and productive in a fast-paced work environment with competing priorities.
  • NICE TO HAVE: Clinical background or clinical fluency (e.g., RN, clinical operations, or other healthcare delivery experience) is a meaningful plus, particularly given this team's work at the intersection of clinical programs and commercial strategy โ€” but is not required.

The base salary range for this role varies by location and is aligned to market benchmarks.

  • Candidates located in higher-cost labor markets, including California, Washington, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Washington, DC represent the middle to high end of the range, while candidates located in all other U.S. locations represent the low to middle end of the range.
  • Final compensation is determined based on location, experience, skills, and internal equity.

This role is eligible for a 15% target annual bonus, resulting in the following base salary and Total Target Compensation (TTC) ranges:

  • Base Salary: $145,000 - $165,000
  • TTC: $166,750 - $189,750

*Total Target Compensation (TTC): Total Cash Compensation (including base pay, variable pay, commission, bonuses, etc.) Additionally, stock options, paid benefits, and employee perks are part of your total rewards.
