Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior IT Manager based in Netherlands.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity to own IT operations within a globally distributed, remote-first technology organization. You will oversee the systems, infrastructure, applications, devices, identity, and support processes that enable employees to work securely and effectively. The role combines strategic ownership with practical technical execution, giving you the opportunity to improve how IT operates across the organization. You will manage a modern Microsoft environment while overseeing SaaS platforms, vendors, technology spend, and business-critical integrations. Security and compliance will also be central to the role, including responsibility for ISO 27001:2022 activities and coordination with external security specialists. Working across international teams, you will have significant autonomy to strengthen IT operations, automation, governance, and resilience.

Accountabilities
  • Own day-to-day IT operations for a globally distributed, remote-first organization, covering business applications, endpoints, infrastructure, identity and access management, asset lifecycle management, and employee support.
  • Administer, maintain, and continuously improve Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, SharePoint, and Power Automate, including access controls, device compliance, and workflow automation.
  • Manage SaaS platforms, IT vendors, licenses, contracts, renewals, technology assets, and overall IT spend, ensuring effective governance and operational efficiency.
  • Support Microsoft Business Central and integrations across finance, sales, and operational systems, including HubSpot.
  • Own secure employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, role changes, and offboarding, applying least-privilege and role-based access principles.
  • Coordinate external security partners responsible for security monitoring, vulnerability management, incident response, security testing, and compliance support.
  • Serve as the internal technical owner for ISO 27001:2022, coordinating evidence collection, remediation activities, and ongoing compliance requirements.
  • Maintain comprehensive IT documentation, operational procedures, business continuity measures, and disaster-recovery arrangements.
  • Identify opportunities to automate, standardize, and improve IT processes while ensuring a reliable and secure employee experience.
Requirements
  • Several years of professional experience in system administration, IT operations, or IT management, ideally in a technology-driven or internationally distributed organization.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, SharePoint, and Power Automate.
  • Solid experience with identity and access management, device management, endpoint security, and role-based access controls.
  • Proven experience managing SaaS applications, IT assets, software licenses, vendors, contracts, renewals, and technology budgets.
  • Good understanding of employee onboarding, offboarding, access governance, IT security, incident response, compliance, and disaster recovery.
  • Strong troubleshooting, organizational, documentation, and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical topics into clear solutions and processes.
  • A proactive and structured approach, with the ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and take ownership in a fast-moving environment.
  • Comfortable collaborating with international, remote teams across different locations and time zones.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.
  • Experience with ISO 27001:2022, Microsoft Business Central, HubSpot, external security providers, PowerShell, Windows and macOS environments, or IT service management and ticketing tools is a strong advantage.
  • Relevant Microsoft, ITIL, security, or ISO certifications are considered a plus.
Benefits
  • Remote-first workplace with employment opportunities in the D/A/CH region.
  • Competitive compensation.
  • Flexible working hours designed to support a distributed workforce.
  • Flexible holidays and a range of employee perks.
  • Fitness and education benefits.
  • Participation in an Employee Stock Options Plan.
  • The opportunity to shape IT strategy and operations within a growing deep-tech scale-up.
  • Exposure to a highly technical, international, and collaborative environment.
  • The opportunity to work alongside diverse colleagues across Europe and the US.
  • A welcoming, inclusive, and supportive working culture that values initiative, collaboration, and continuous learning.
