The Role
 
The Senior IT Engineer will serve as a key technical anchor on the IT team, owning the systems and platforms that power Wpromote's day-to-day operations. Reporting to the Director of IT, this role is built for a senior individual contributor who can take strategic direction, drive technical execution end-to-end, and make sound systems decisions with minimal oversight. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Apple/Mac environments, Google Workspace, MDM, and modern identity platforms, and is energized by both hands-on engineering and partnering across the team to elevate IT as a whole. This role is onsite at our El Segundo office, with an expected in-office presence of 2 days per week, providing critical on-site support and serving as a senior point of escalation across the function.

The anticipated annual salary for this role will range from $90,000 - $110,000, based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, years and depth of experience, education and certifications, competitive benchmarks, scope of responsibility, market dynamics, geographic location, and the respective state’s salary threshold for exempt employees. At Wpromote, pay ranges are subject to change and are based on specific market medians for similar jobs according to third-party salary benchmark surveys. Individual pay within that range can vary due to skills, experience, and available budget.  The total compensation package for this role will include benefits (listed above).

You Will Be
  • Owning Core IT Systems: Leading the  administration and architecture of Google Workspace, MDM (Iru), and identity platforms (Rippling, Google Workspace), ensuring the systems that power the company run securely, efficiently, and at scale

  • Driving Technical Project Execution: Taking strategic direction from the Director of IT and own technical projects end-to-end. Define the path forward, drive execution, surface blockers proactively, and communicate progress clearly

  • Resolving Complex Technical Escalations: Serving as the senior point of escalation for Tier 2 and Tier 3 issues, partnering with the Senior IT Specialist to resolve technical challenges that fall outside their current scope

  • Leveraging AI to Drive Outcomes: Applying AI tools and automation to deliver measurable improvements in team efficiency, cost savings, and process optimization.

  • Providing On-Site IT Leadership: Delivering hands-on, in-office support and serving as a senior IT presence at the El Segundo headquarters, ensuring continuity of coverage and a high-quality experience for in-office employees and guests

  • Driving Support Ticket Queue Excellence: Contributing to day-to-day ticket queue coverage alongside the team, analyzing trends and root causes to proactively eliminate recurring issues. Model a standard of responsiveness, quality, and professionalism that reflects IT's commitment to service excellence.

  • Strengthening IAM and Access Governance: Supporting Rippling IAM provisioning rules, app integrations, and access governance, ensuring secure and efficient onboarding and offboarding across the company.

  • Building Documentation and Knowledge: Developing and maintaining technical documentation, runbooks, and internal knowledge resources that empower the team and create operational resilience.

You Must Have
  • 4+ years of hands-on IT engineering experience in a professional environment, with a track record of owning systems and technical projects end-to-end
  • Deep expertise in Apple/Mac environments, including macOS configuration, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management
  • Advanced Google Workspace administration experience, including directory management, group structure, security policies, shared drives, and integrations
  • Hands-on experience supporting Mac-first, Google-centric environments at scale, with the ability to navigate complexity across systems, integrations, and end-user needs
  • Hands-on MDM platform experience (Jamf, Mosyle, Kandji, or equivalent), covering device enrollment, configuration profiles, compliance policies, and fleet health
  • SSO and identity platform experience, including Okta, Rippling, or similar identity providers, with working knowledge of provisioning, authentication, and access governance
  • Exposure to SOC 2 or similar compliance frameworks, with an understanding of how IT supports security and audit readiness
  • Demonstrated use of AI tools to drive measurable outcomes, with specific examples of time savings, cost reduction, or process efficiency
  • Strong communicator with the ability to take direction, drive technical work autonomously, surface blockers early, and partner effectively across the team
  • The ability to operate with 70%+ autonomous decision-making on technical matters and brings sound judgment to systems-level architecture and design choices.
  • Direct working knowledge of  A/V and conference room technology troubleshooting experience (Google Meet, displays, microphones, soundbars)
  • Strong networking and documentation skills, including Wi-Fi/VPN/DNS troubleshooting and clear technical writing
  • Security awareness, including familiarity with FileVault, MFA, MDM compliance, and endpoint protection best practices

  • People management experience: while this role is scoped as a senior individual contributor, candidates with prior experience leading or developing IT teams will be considered for expanded scope
  • Industry certifications (Jamf Certified Admin, Apple Certified Support Professional, Google Workspace Admin, Okta Certified Professional)
  • ITIL certification or experience operating in ITIL-aligned environments
