Remote Segmentation Specialist information

What is a remote segmentation specialist?

Remote Segmentation Specialists are professionals who analyze and categorize data, images, or other information—often in fields such as healthcare, marketing, or technology—while working remotely. Their primary responsibility is to segment data into meaningful groups or regions, which helps organizations make informed decisions or train machine learning models. This role frequently involves using specialized software and tools to annotate or label digital content. Remote Segmentation Specialists must have a strong attention to detail, technical proficiency, and effective communication skills to collaborate with distributed teams. The job is in high demand, especially with the growth of remote work and data-driven industries.

What are some common challenges remote segmentation specialists face when collaborating with cross-functional teams?

Remote Segmentation Specialists often work closely with marketing, data analytics, and product teams to ensure accurate market and customer segment identification. A key challenge is maintaining clear and timely communication across different time zones and work environments, which can impact project alignment. Utilizing collaborative tools, setting regular check-ins, and establishing clear documentation are essential practices for overcoming these obstacles. Successful specialists proactively seek feedback and clarify data requirements to ensure their segmentation insights are actionable and relevant for all stakeholders.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote segmentation specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Segmentation Specialist, you need strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience in data segmentation or image analysis, often supported by a degree in a related field such as computer science, biology, or medical imaging. Familiarity with segmentation software (like ITK-SNAP or ImageJ), machine learning tools, and possibly certifications in data analysis or medical imaging are typically required. Excellent communication, self-motivation, and problem-solving abilities are vital for remote collaboration and independently managing tasks. These skills ensure precise, efficient segmentation work that supports accurate data interpretation and project success in distributed teams.

Specialist Seller, Mid-Market

Samsara

Remote

$63K - $86K/yr

Full-time

Re-posted 19 days ago

Job description

About the Role:

Samsara is seeking a high-impact seller to bring our newest product lines to market at scale (Maintenance, Asset Tags, Routing, AI Multicam, etc.). This is an overlay Sales Specialist role working in partnership with our Account Executives (AEs) across Mid-Market accounts. You will lead the charge in scaling new products and influencing GTM for a specific product within the segment.

About the Team:

This specialist team reports into a Sales Director (SD) and consists of specialist sellers aligned by segment and product.  AEs on the team are charged with accelerating the growth of a new product and will be incentivized on quarterly product sales targets mapped to 1 or more regional directors for mainline sellers in the segment.   Product Specialist sellers drive growth through strategic, high-value deal executing and enabling the segment overall to be successful.

This is a remote position open to candidates residing in the United States.

You should apply if:

  • You want to impact the industries that run our world: Your efforts will result in real-world impact - helping to keep the lights on, get food into grocery stores, and most importantly, ensure workers return home safely.
  • You have an innate curiosity about how businesses work: One day you'll meet with someone in waste management and the next you may be learning about the inner workings of a food distribution center.  Our top sales team members seek to learn the ins and outs of the businesses they support in order to make a larger impact.
  • You build genuine relationships with your customers: The industries we serve have relied on pen-and-paper solutions for years and haven't been met with the type of technology we offer. Our customers value earned trust and human relationships built over time.
  • You want to be with the best: Samsara's high-performance culture means you'll be surrounded by the best and challenged to go farther than you have before.
  • You are a team player: At Samsara, sales is a team sport. We help each other out by sharing best practices and focusing on winning as a team.

In this role you will:

  • Co-develop new product pipeline with ADRs/AEs across key accounts
  • Drive pilot strategy and success metrics for early adoption
  • Partner with GTM and Product to feed back insights and help shape roadmap
  • Build frameworks, assets and insights that scale across the sales org

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • 2+ years in complex, full-cycle SaaS sales
  • Demonstrated success with $50k+ deals
  • Clear, confident communicator with strong customer instincts
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit and ability to lead through influence

An ideal candidate also has:

  • Overlay or new product launch sales experience
  • Experience working with Product and Marketing to influence GTM strategy
  • Ability to operate in strategic partnership with senior AEs and account teams
  • Comfort in presenting to and influencing VPs, C-Suite Executives and Owners
