Job description

Position Title: Sales Compensation Manager
Practice/Department: People Operations
Position Location: Remote
Reports to: Compensation Strategy Analyst
Job Summary:
The Sales Compensation Manager leads the administration, calculation, reporting, and governance of Pellera's sales compensation programs. Reporting to the Strategy Analyst, this role manages a team of analysts while serving as the primary subject matter expert for commission processing, compensation analytics, dispute resolution, and financial reporting. Working closely with Sales, Finance, Operations, HR, and Payroll, the Sales Compensation Manager ensures accurate and timely commission payments, maintains compensation data integrity, and drives process improvements that support operational excellence and sales performance. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical and financial acumen with leadership experience and deep knowledge of sales compensation programs
FLSA Status:Exempt
Sales Compensation Administration:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of analysts responsible for commission administration, reporting, and support.
  • Manage end-to-end administration of sales commission and incentive compensation programs.
  • Calculate, validate, and reconcile monthly and quarterly commission payments.
  • Ensure compensation plans are administered consistently and in accordance with approved plan documents.
  • Review commission calculations for accuracy and resolve payment discrepancies.

Reporting & Analytics:
  • Develop and maintain commission, attainment, and incentive compensation reporting.
  • Provide recurring and ad hoc reporting to Sales Leadership, Finance, and executive management.
  • Compensation Governance
  • Maintain compensation plan documents, plan amendments, and supporting procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with approved plan rules and internal controls.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation supporting compensation calculations and payouts.

Systems & Process Management:
  • Serve as the primary administrator for sales compensation tracking and reporting processes.
  • Support compensation plan implementation, testing, administration, and documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, and enhance compensation processes, systems, and reporting capabilities.
  • Partner with Sales Operations, Finance, and Payroll to ensure data integrity across systems.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and controls.

Education and Experience:
Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales compensation, commissions administration, finance, payroll, or sales operations.
  • Minimum of 3 years of management experience.

Preferred:
  • Experience with commission management platforms, CRM systems, and ERP applications.
  • Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence and reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of gross profit-based compensation structures and sales incentive program.
