What is a remote SaaS job?

A Remote SaaS (Software as a Service) job involves working from a location outside of a traditional office to support, develop, market, or manage cloud-based software products. These roles can include positions in software development, customer support, sales, marketing, or product management, all focused on delivering software solutions over the internet. Remote SaaS employees typically collaborate with their teams using digital communication and project management tools. The main advantage is the flexibility to work from anywhere while contributing to the growth and success of a SaaS company.

What are some common challenges remote SaaS professionals face in collaborating with cross-functional teams, and how can these be addressed?

Remote SaaS professionals often work with colleagues from product, engineering, marketing, and customer success teams across different time zones and locations. This can lead to challenges such as communication delays, misaligned priorities, and difficulties building rapport. To address these, teams typically rely on clear documentation, regular virtual meetings, and collaborative tools like Slack, Jira, and shared project management platforms. Proactively seeking feedback and scheduling check-ins also help maintain alignment and foster a positive remote work culture.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote SaaS specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote SaaS Specialist, you need a strong understanding of cloud-based software solutions, technical troubleshooting, and customer support, often supported by a background in IT or computer science. Familiarity with SaaS platforms, CRM systems, and tools like Zendesk or Salesforce is typically required, along with relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner. Excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and self-motivation are crucial soft skills for remote collaboration and customer engagement. These skills ensure effective service delivery, customer satisfaction, and productivity in a distributed work environment.

We aren’t just placing people. We’re also investing in them. As you ramp, your role expands into a full-desk recruiter where you'll be running searches, managing accounts, and helping clients hire top talent from first interview to final offer.

We work in a high-feedback, high-ownership environment. If you thrive on structure, autonomy, and friendly competition, you’ll love it here.

  • 1+ year of B2B sales or recruiting experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Hyper-organized and detail-oriented
  • Fast learner, especially in entrepreneurial or fast-paced settings
  • Open to hybrid or remote work

THE BENEFITS:

  • $75K–$90K Year 1 OTE (Base: $50K + uncapped commission + bonus opportunities)
  • $75K–$110K+ Year 2 OTE | $100K–$130K+ Year 3 OTE
  • 3 Weeks PTO + 10 Paid Holidays

  • Daily mentorship, career pathing, and access to world-class tools (LinkedIn Recruiter, Loxo, etc)
  • Clear promotion tracks: Senior Recruiter, Account Manager, Recruiting Manager, etc

THE CULTURE:

At SalesFirst, we live by The Big 4:

  • Be Worthy of Loyalty
  • Help Your Teammates
  • Results, Not Excuses
  • Be a Student of Your Profession

We take the work seriously, but not ourselves. We celebrate wins, we own our misses, and we compete with heart. Our bar cart’s stocked, our playlists are solid, and our people show up for each other every day.
