What is a Remote SaaS job?

A Remote SaaS (Software as a Service) job involves working from a location outside of a traditional office to support, develop, market, or manage cloud-based software products. These roles can include positions in software development, customer support, sales, marketing, or product management, all focused on delivering software solutions over the internet. Remote SaaS employees typically collaborate with their teams using digital communication and project management tools. The main advantage is the flexibility to work from anywhere while contributing to the growth and success of a SaaS company.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote SaaS Specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote SaaS Specialist, you need a strong understanding of cloud-based software solutions, technical troubleshooting, and customer support, often supported by a background in IT or computer science. Familiarity with SaaS platforms, CRM systems, and tools like Zendesk or Salesforce is typically required, along with relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner. Excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and self-motivation are crucial soft skills for remote collaboration and customer engagement. These skills ensure effective service delivery, customer satisfaction, and productivity in a distributed work environment.

What Are Remote SAAS Jobs?

Remote Software as a Service (SaaS) jobs focus on developing, servicing, or otherwise providing software with its own integrated distribution platform, usually to allow any number of external users access to that software. In this role, you may help develop a SaaS product, promote the sales of software, or handle customer support and feedback to guide future changes to the software. SaaS jobs are similar to most other programming roles—the main distinction between SaaS and other software is the method of distribution, not how the software is coded. SaaS jobs often focus on regular updates to help retain existing users and attract new ones, so you may be asked to work overtime as needed to help get updates out on time. Remote SaaS jobs usually involve working over the internet to send and receive code, test products, conduct advertising, or perform any other related job.

What are some common challenges remote SaaS professionals face in collaborating with cross-functional teams, and how can these be addressed?

Remote SaaS professionals often work with colleagues from product, engineering, marketing, and customer success teams across different time zones and locations. This can lead to challenges such as communication delays, misaligned priorities, and difficulties building rapport. To address these, teams typically rely on clear documentation, regular virtual meetings, and collaborative tools like Slack, Jira, and shared project management platforms. Proactively seeking feedback and scheduling check-ins also help maintain alignment and foster a positive remote work culture.

Job description

COMPANY OVERVIEW

PSTrax is one of the fastest growing software companies in the public service industry. We are a SaaS solution helping First Responders with their operations checks by offering safer and more efficient rig and inventory tracking. We help automate and streamline the operational aspects of our clients’ jobs – saving agencies, on average, 700% in time and cost savings in the first year alone.

PRIMARY PURPOSE AND FUNCTION

We are currently looking to hire a results-driven Account Executive to join our dynamic Sales team and be responsible for driving revenue and customer growth by discovering, qualifying, presenting, demonstrating, negotiating, and closing deals with prospective and existing customers. We utilize a consultative selling approach and have a team of outbound and inbound SDRs to help you with lead generation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver annual sales targets by managing a pipeline of leads – generated by Marketing, our outbound SDRs, as well as your own prospecting.
  • Lead 2 or more virtual meetings (via Zoom) per day to introduce the company, demonstrate our product, and prepare price proposals.
  • Nurture deals through the full sales process from initial lead to product demonstration to pricing to close.
  • Work with the Customer Success Managers to ensure effective hand-off and customer onboarding.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of our product by providing feedback from conversations with your customers and prospects.
  • Engage with the Sales and business leadership to coordinate marketing and sales activities.
  • Leverage AI tools to improve processes, streamline workflows, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Update the CRM (HubSpot) to document all activities on deals and follow-ups.
  • Travel as necessary for trade shows, sales events, or customer meetings (estimated 5-10% of time).

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Experience in a full-cycle sales role selling B2B SaaS.
  • Exceptional track record of meeting/exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience negotiating and closing SaaS deal sizes of $3K-$100K/year in annual recurring revenue (ARR) and sales cycles of 2-6 months.
  • Experience developing a pipeline through inbound and outbound methods.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Results-driven, self-starter, and strong team player, with a focus on client satisfaction.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in related field is a plus.
  • Experience in the first responder industry is a plus.
  • Experience with Zoom, HubSpot, Google Suite, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with structured sales processes, and ability to adhere to process.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and how to utilize them in the role (e.g., for content generation, research, or operational efficiency).

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Travel as required.
