Job description

Position: Accounting Manager Location: Remote (must work Eastern Time) About the Role A high-growth, private equity-backed SaaS organization is seeking an Accounting Manager to join its Corporate Accounting team. This individual will oversee a broad set of accounting functions to ensure financial information is accurate, reliable, and delivered on time in accordance with US GAAP. The role plays a key part in the financial reporting cycle, including managing the monthly close, consolidating results across multiple entities, and preparing internal and external reporting for management, the PE sponsor, and lenders.

This is a remote-first opportunity with strong cross-functional partnership across finance leadership and operational teams. Key Responsibilities - Month-End Close and General Accounting Lead and manage assigned portions of the month-end close process to ensure accuracy and timely delivery Review and approve journal entries and supporting documentation Analyze financial results, identify variances or unusual activity, and partner with the Controller to resolve issues Oversee completion of account reconciliations in accordance with internal control requirements Key Responsibilities - Financial Reporting Prepare and review consolidated monthly financial statements, management reports, and related schedules Support preparation of schedules and disclosures for audit, lender, and investor reporting requirements Present and explain financial results to senior accounting leadership Key Responsibilities - Leadership and Process Improvement Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of senior accountants Contribute to the development and enhancement of accounting policies, procedures, and process improvements Act as a key point of contact for Corporate Accounting on cross-functional projects and initiatives Collaborate with finance and operations teams to meet reporting and compliance objectives Drive automation and transformation initiatives across the close and reporting process Qualifications - Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field CPA required 4 to 5 plus years of progressive accounting experience Blend of public accounting and industry experience required SaaS industry experience required Private equity-backed experience required Prior supervisory experience required Strong knowledge of US GAAP and ability to research and apply accounting guidance Experience with month-end close, consolidations, and multi-entity reporting environments Advanced Excel skills with experience in data analysis and modeling Qualifications - Preferred Big 4 public accounting background Experience with Sage Intacct or NetSuite ERP Exposure to financial statement preparation in a PE or lender reporting environment Experience supporting M&A integration or multi-entity consolidations Appetite for automation and continuous process improvement Role Highlights Newly created role with the opportunity to shape close and reporting processes Direct partnership with senior accounting leadership Strong ownership over financial statement preparation, consolidations, and reporting High-growth, PE-backed SaaS environment with significant project work and transformation initiatives Remote-first with the flexibility to use a downtown Raleigh office if local Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
