About Us
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Global Commodity Manager to oversee sourcing and supplier management for custom fabricated parts supporting complex Build-to-Print (BTP) manufacturing operations.
This individual will play a critical role in developing supplier strategies, driving cost reduction initiatives, mitigating supply chain risks, and ensuring continuity of supply across a global supplier network. The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of technical manufacturing knowledge, supplier relationship management, and strategic sourcing expertise.
What You'll Do
Strategic Sourcing & Commodity Management
  • Develop and execute global commodity strategies for custom fabricated components and related commodities.
  • Identify, evaluate, qualify, and develop suppliers capable of supporting complex manufacturing requirements.
  • Drive supplier consolidation, dual-sourcing initiatives, and supply chain resiliency programs.
  • Lead RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs while conducting supplier evaluations and competitive analysis.
  • Perform total cost of ownership (TCO), should-cost modeling, benchmarking, and market analysis.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, lead times, payment terms, inventory programs, and commercial agreements.
  • Deliver annual cost savings and productivity improvement initiatives.
Supplier Management & Performance
  • Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships.
  • Monitor supplier performance related to quality, delivery, responsiveness, capacity, and cost.
  • Conduct supplier reviews, capability assessments, audits, and site visits.
  • Drive supplier accountability and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Serve as the escalation point for critical supplier issues and shortages.
Technical & Operational Support
  • Act as the subject matter expert for custom fabrication technologies and manufacturing processes.
  • Partner with Engineering teams on DFM initiatives, material selection, and manufacturability improvements.
  • Support prototype builds, NPI activities, and production ramp-ups.
  • Collaborate with Quality teams to address supplier performance issues and corrective actions.
Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Operations, Program Management, Finance, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Present sourcing strategies, supplier recommendations, cost reduction initiatives, and risk mitigation plans to leadership.
  • Support enterprise-wide supplier standardization and procurement best practices.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, commodity management, procurement, supplier development, or supply chain management.
  • Strong experience sourcing custom fabricated components and manufacturing-related commodities.
  • Experience leading supplier negotiations, RFQ/RFP processes, and commercial agreements.
  • Strong analytical skills, including cost modeling, market analysis, and TCO evaluations.
  • Working knowledge of fabrication technologies, manufacturing processes, materials, and supplier capabilities.
  • Experience collaborating across Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain functions.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, Excel, and supply chain analytics tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience within Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS), aerospace, defense, medical device, industrial manufacturing, or other high-reliability industries.
  • Experience supporting Build-to-Print (BTP) manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of supplier qualification methodologies and quality systems.
  • Experience managing suppliers throughout the U.S., Mexico, and Asia.
  • APICS, CPSM, CPM, or similar certifications preferred.
Success in This Role
Key performance measures include:
  • Annual cost savings and PPV improvements
  • Supplier delivery and quality performance
  • Lead-time reduction initiatives
  • Dual-source implementation
  • Inventory optimization and continuity of supply
  • Supplier consolidation and spend management
  • Sourcing cycle time and RFQ responsiveness

This is an excellent opportunity for a sourcing professional who enjoys building supplier partnerships, solving complex supply chain challenges, and driving measurable business impact within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
