Position Summary
Reporting to the Sr. Supervisor, Financial Operations, the Revenue Assurance Specialist's primary responsibility is processing customer payments for warranty contracts and our in-house HVAC Company which can be done through partnerships with outside vendors. We assist with creating transactions when needed to correct accounts and work with our payment vendors to ensure we have accurate processing of payments. Additionally, we process customer refunds and approve and review credits.
Located at our office in Naperville, our office environment is a key driver of our company culture and employee experience, so a regular in-office hybrid model (T-TH in office and M & F remote) is required.
*Please note, this opening also offers a fully remote schedule, depending on candidate location.
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
  • Reconcile and create manual receipts and reversals for Southern Co Nicor book of business.
  • Collect proof of customer enrolling in OHS program and processing responses to credit card chargebacks via our Stripe payment gateway portal.
  • Pull, analyze, and determine how to resolve cash receipts that have not been applied to customer accounts.
  • Pull, review, and process refunds via the Credit Adjustment System (CAS) upload process.
  • Process customer refund files in Oracle.
  • Review refund file upload results for quality assurance.
  • Reviewing and processing customer service requests via the Revenue Assurance email inbox.

Experience and Qualifications for the Role
  • 2 - 4 years prior experience in Billing, Account Receivable, or Accounting experience โ€“ preferred
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for processing bank deposit reconciliations.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with bank portals and ERP systems.
  • Understanding banking compliance and handling sensitive information securely.
  • Good problem-solving skills for researching incomplete or unclear customer information.
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with internal teams (e.g., Accounting, Billing, Contract Ops).
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality when processing customer data.
