About Us:

NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution is responsible for the licensing and distribution of NBCUniversal product to all forms of television and new media platforms in the U.S., Canada and in over 200 territories internationally. NBCUniversal’s content portfolio includes a vast and diverse library of more than 6,500 feature films and 170,000 television episodes, including current and classic titles, non-scripted programming, kids, sports, news, long-form and short-form programming from Universal Pictures, Focus Features, Universal Television, UCP, Universal International Studios, Sky Studios, NBC Late Night properties, DreamWorks Animation, Telemundo, and more, as well as locally produced content from around the world. Global TV Distribution is a division of Comcast NBCUniversal.

Overview:

The Manager, Revenue Assurance, will help manage the processes and internal controls associated with the identification, documentation, communication and application of accounting standards governing License Revenue for Global TV Distribution. This position will work in partnership with Sales Administration, the Participations & Residuals team and other members of Finance to evaluate contract terms, determine proper revenue recognition under US GAAP and communicate the results.  This position reports to the Director, Revenue Assurance, Global TV Distribution.

Responsibilities:

  • Review Global TV Distribution contracts and identify, document and communicate accounting considerations for revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606
  • Review contract set up in the rights management and revenue sub-ledger systems to provide assurance that revenue is properly recognized in accordance with US GAAP
  • Track and monitor licensee submission of monthly and quarterly royalty statements and coordinate with Global Finance Organization to ensure timely receipts and processing
  • Prepare month-end and quarter-end revenue accrual/deferral entries and supporting documentation for review
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with Company policy
  • Support the preparation of financial reporting disclosures and supplemental reporting to NBCU and Comcast
  • Partner with the Participations & Residuals team to support participant audits and related inquiries
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, control enhancements, and documentation standardization
  • Perform ad hoc reporting and special projects as requested

Qualifications

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting & CPA preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant accounting/finance experience
  • Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot tables and macros

  • Experience in analyzing complex contract terms and performing technical accounting research
  • Solid organization and communication skills
  • Proven analytical ability and detailed oriented
  • Proactive problem solver who gathers and analyzes information to make decisions to accomplish responsibilities efficiently
  • Understanding of internal controls, including Sarbanes Oxley compliance
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team is essential for this fast-paced environment
  • The ability to plan and organize work to meet tight deadlines
  • SAP/BW experience highly desirable; willingness to learn new systems as necessary
  • Self‑starter with a high level of initiative, accountability, and professionalism
  • Big 4 and/or Entertainment experience a plus

Hybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
