Job description

Who We Are:

BERTOLINO LLP is a boutique litigation defense firm located in Austin, Texas, representing licensed professionals across Texas in regulatory investigations, disciplinary proceedings, and civil litigation matters that threaten their professional, occupational licenses, and careers.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work remotely anywhere within Texas, allowing attorneys to avoid the significant time and expense of daily commuting and eliminating the need to relocate to Austin, Texas.
  • Represent licensed professionals facing disciplinary action by Texas regulatory agencies and civil litigation claims involving malpractice or other allegations that threaten their professional reputation, livelihood, and career
  • Handle matters involving licensing board investigations and enforcement actions, as well as civil litigation involving malpractice and other misconduct claims
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal correspondence
  • Participate in SOAH hearings, informal settlement conferences, civil lawsuits, litigation strategy development, and negotiations
  • Communicate directly with clients and guide them through regulatory proceedings and litigation matters
  • Work closely with senior attorneys to develop litigation strategy and case resolution approaches

What We Require:

  • Licensed Texas attorney in good standing
  • 4+ years of litigation experience preferred
  • Strong writing, research, and client communication skills
  • Comfortable managing cases and working directly with clients

While prior administrative law or regulatory experience is helpful, it is not required. Attorneys with litigation backgrounds in healthcare defense, white-collar defense, employment law, government practice, insurance defense, or other litigation-focused practices often transition successfully into this area of practice and are encouraged to apply.

Our firm provides mentorship and collaboration to help attorneys become comfortable with the regulatory and administrative aspects of the practice. We are looking for attorneys who are thoughtful, motivated, and interested in developing strong litigation and client advocacy skills in a practice that directly impacts our clients’ professional careers.

What We Offer:

We offer a competitive compensation structure that rewards performance, initiative, and long-term growth within the firm.

Base salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $115,000, depending on experience, with multiple opportunities to increase total compensation through performance and business development. Attorneys in this role can earn $120,000 to $160,000+ in total annual compensation, depending on productivity and contributions to the firm.

Our compensation structure includes:

  • Base salary based on experience
  • Guaranteed and discretionary bonus opportunities
  • Performance-based incentive compensation tied to productivity
  • Origination compensation for new client matters
  • Remote work stipend

Although our firm is located in downtown Austin, this position is fully remote within Texas, allowing attorneys to avoid the significant time and expense of daily commuting and the need to relocate to Austin. Working remotely often translates into meaningful cost savings related to fuel, parking, vehicle wear and tear, and other commuting expenses, while also providing greater flexibility and work-life balance.

In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), paid time off, mental health days, and reimbursement for CLEs and State Bar dues.

Because our firm is structured as a boutique litigation practice, attorneys have meaningful opportunities to develop their own client relationships, expand their litigation experience, and grow professionally within a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment.
