We focus on empowering students from the inside out, teaching core skills and strategies that foster long-term academic and personal success.
Position Overview

We are seeking a credentialed special education teacher specializing in middle school or high school for Novella Prep’s Study Skills program. This role emphasizes executive functioning skill development and the integration of those skills into academic achievement and workforce readiness.
Responsibilities

  • Meet virtually with students each week to build study skills, executive functioning, time management, planning, and organization.
  • Support the development of writing, note-taking, focus strategies, and academic enrichment.
  • Foster independence, confidence, and responsibility in students while addressing individual learning needs.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and Novella staff, providing clear progress updates.
  • Attend team meetings to discuss student growth and areas for improvement.
  • Additional responsibilities, as assigned (e.g., copyediting, student resource development).
Requirements

  • State or provincial teaching credentials in special education.
  • Minimum 4 years of classroom teaching experience.
  • Experience supporting middle school learners with diverse learning needs.
  • Strong skills in executive functioning instruction, time management, and student engagement.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fully virtual or in-person environment.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

This is a remote position.
