Bilingual Benefit and Disability Management Specialist - Contract (REMOTE)

The key focus of this position is to provide effective and efficient in-house benefit and disability administrative support within a fast-paced environment.

This is ONE YEAR contract (mat leave coverage) REMOTE position and can be based in any of the following office locations; Edmonton, Mississauga or Montreal

Responsibilities

Benefit Administration

  • Facilitate incoming benefit plan calls and emails by providing excellent customer service (responding to queries, providing information, problem solving, guidance on filling out paperwork)

  • Maintain records of group insurance benefits in relevant system databases

  • Receive and process applications for enrollments, change in benefits, coverage for over-age dependents/disabled dependents

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with insurance providers

  • Liaise with the insurance carrier representatives and other key stakeholders to provide problem-resolution for members experiencing benefit related issues, when required.

  • Perform other functions as required

Disability Administration

  • Facilitate incoming disability (STD, LTD) calls and emails by providing excellent customer service (responding to queries, providing information, problem solving, guidance on filling out paperwork)

  • Proactive management of disability claims including situations of a complex nature.

  • Communicates with claimants and external partners regarding case adjudication and return to work planning

  • Maintains effective working relationships with providers of short term and long-term disability products and services related to effective disability case management

  • Review of internal processes and policies with a view to continuous improvement

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bilingual (written and spoken): English and French are required

  • Minimum Grade 12 diploma, preference will be given to individuals that have a degree or certification in benefits (ie. Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS)

  • Knowledge of group benefits principles and experience with group benefits administration, minimum of 3 years, ideally in a large organization

  • Experience with the administration of group short term disability and long-term disability administration.

  • Experience in interpreting benefit plans and documents

  • Professionalism and confidentiality

  • Initiative to manage multiple demands under pressure in a fast paced, multi-faceted environment

  • Superior customer service experience

  • Strong communication skills/telephone skills and experience including the ability to effectively manage conflicting or aggressive situations

  • Time management / ability to meet time sensitive deadlines

  • Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Workday experience would be considered an asset

  • Basic mathematical skills and the aptitude to work with numbers to produce accurate calculations

  • Attention to detail

  • Reliable and highly organized

Il s'agit d'un contrat d'UN AN (remplacement de conge de maternite) en TELETRAVAIL, pouvant etre base dans l'un des bureaux suivants: Edmonton, Mississauga ou Montreal.

Responsabilites

Administration des avantages sociaux

  • Faciliter les appels et les courriels entrants concernant le regime d'avantages sociaux en fournissant un excellent service a la clientele (repondre aux demandes de renseignements, fournir de l'information, resoudre les problemes, prodiguer des conseils sur la facon de remplir les documents)

  • Tenir des dossiers sur les prestations d'assurance collective dans les bases de donnees pertinentes du systeme

  • Recevoir et traiter les demandes d'adhesion, de modification d'avantages sociaux, de couverture pour les personnes a charge et les personnes a charge handicapees qui ont depasse l'age limite.

  • Etablir et entretenir de solides relations avec les assureurs

  • Assurer la liaison avec les representants des compagnies d'assurance et d'autres intervenants cles afin de resoudre les problemes des membres aux prises avec des problemes lies aux avantages sociaux, au besoin.

  • Executer d'autres fonctions, au besoin

Administration de l'invalidite

  • Assurer le traitement des appels et courriels relatifs a l'invalidite (invalidite de courte et de longue duree) en offrant un excellent service a la clientele (reponses aux demandes de renseignements, fournir des renseignements, resolution de problemes, aide au remplissage des formulaires).

  • Gestion proactive des demandes de prestations d'invalidite, y compris les situations complexes.

  • Communiquer avec les reclamants et les partenaires externes au sujet de la decision prise et de la planification du retour au travail.

  • Entretenir des relations de travail efficaces avec les fournisseurs de produits et services d'invalidite de courte et de longue duree lies a la gestion efficace des cas d'invalidite.

  • Revue des processus et politiques internes en vue d'une amelioration continue

Qualifications et experience

  • Bilingue (ecrit et parle): francais et anglais requis

  • Au minimum, diplome d'etudes secondaires; la preference sera accordee aux personnes detenant un diplome ou une certification en avantages sociaux (p. ex. Specialiste agree en avantages sociaux (CEBS)

  • Connaissance des principes d'assurance collective et experience de l'administration des garanties collectives, au moins trois ans, idealement dans une grande organisation.

  • Experience de l'administration des regimes collectifs d'assurance-invalidite de courte et de longue duree.

  • Experience dans l'interpretation des regimes et des documents relatifs aux avantages sociaux

  • Professionnalisme et confidentialite

  • Initiative pour gerer de multiples demandes sous pression dans un environnement dynamique et diversifie

  • Experience superieure en matiere de service a la clientele

  • Competences et experience solides en communication/au telephone, y compris la capacite de gerer efficacement des situations conflictuelles ou stressantes.

  • Gestion du temps / capacite de respecter des delais extremement serres.

  • Bonne maitrise de Word, Excel et Outlook.

  • De l'experience relative au systeme Workday serait consideree comme un atout

  • Competences mathematiques de base et aptitude a travailler avec les chiffres pour produire des calculs precis.
