We're seeking a driven and technically skilled Area Sales Manager to lead and grow sales efforts for Valmet Flow Control solutions-including channel-sales and support, projects, and services. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in valves, instrumentation, or automation, and a passion for building lasting customer relationships. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and managing technical sales activities (capital, project, and services) for valves and automation within a specified geography, product line, and market segment to achieve established sales targets.

Territory: Kentucky, Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, Indiana

Key Responsibilities:

  • This role acts as both a technical and sales asset leader and is expected to support and grow the sales of Valmet Flow Control products in their given territory.
  • Focus on channel management.
  • Coordinates and participates in area sales activities in the assigned territory for sales support and business development of Valmet Flow Control products and services.
  • Assure that end customer coverage be balanced and managed among channel partners.
  • Support an annual sales forecast by product mix and remain responsible achieving quota with a balanced across the brands.
  • Responsible for a yearly strategic sales/marketing plan - supported by individual goals and sales objectives.
  • Assure ongoing personal relationships with distributor and common customers by having a physical presence in the assigned territory.
  • Area account penetration and coverage must be balanced, assuring that personal travel is executed as backed by planning, goals, and objectives. Expected to work and travel within a given T&E expense budget.
  • Responsible for ongoing market area analysis as it relates to trends such as industry changes, competition, and pricing.
  • Communicate these market trends to sales and product management for potential growth opportunities and strategy adjustments.
  • Assure adherence to Company's sales, marketing, and service policies as they relate to the sales of goods and services by and through distribution.
  • Participate in industry organizations and networking opportunities with local valve and instrumentation trade groups.
  • Travel will be expected due to geography, approximately up top 40%

To excel in this role, you'll need to:

  • Technical acumen for valves, instrumentation, or automation systems
  • Proven experience asa technical account manager or similar role
  • 3+ Years of relevant experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with aptitude in building relationships with professionals of all organizational levels
  • Ability to work independently and travel up to 40%
