Job description

Job Title: Salesforce Solutions Architect
Location: Remote - Travel once of twice a month required to Columbus, OH (requirements sessions, business process/use case definitions sessions, build sessions)
Period: 9/1/24 to 12/31/24 - 4 month contract with possibility of extension
Hours/Week: 40 hours
Rate: $160/hourContract Type: 1099 only
Scope of Services:The Salesforce Solutions Architect will act as a trusted advisor to the client's Work & Asset Management project team, engaging directly with both technical and business stakeholders to understand requirements, analyze information, and develop comprehensive recommendations and solutions that align with business goals and Salesforce best practices.
The architect's primary responsibility will be to recommend and design robust Salesforce solutions for a utilities client, particularly within the Energy & Utilities Cloud. The architect will evaluate trade-offs in various solutions, ensuring scalability, minimizing technical debt, and preventing the need for manual changes over time.
As a functional and technical team leader, the Salesforce Solution Architect will translate business needs into a technical vision that low code or pro code builders can execute. The role involves designing the organizational strategy, data model, identity and access solutions, data and process integrations, and handling large data volumes with a focus on data privacy.
The architect will also build and support proofs-of-concept (POCs) and serve as the final escalation point for design / build decisions, providing innovative solutions. Their role as an influencer requires them to build buy-in for new solutions while communicating effectively with all stakeholders.
Role, Responsibilities, and Deliverables:
  • Solution Design: Collaborate with team members and business stakeholders to understand the company's vision and requirements, translating them into technical specifications.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Participate in business solution design sessions to identify pain points and business objectives.
  • Data Analysis: Manipulate, analyze, and interpret complex data sets related to the client's business needs.
  • Technical Leadership: Act as the technical point of contact for client stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and a deep understanding of systems and requirements.
  • Demonstrations: Assist teams in preparing and delivering technical demonstrations, showcasing the value and functionality of proposed solutions.
  • Development Collaboration: Work closely with the project team during the development lifecycle to verify requirements, data mapping, solution design, and defect analysis.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on Salesforce releases, features, and best practices, making implementation and change management recommendations.

Experience:
  • Salesforce Expertise: 10+ years of experience as a Salesforce Solution Architect, particularly with the Energy & Utilities Cloud.
  • Requirement Gathering: Proven ability to gather requirements and transform data to meet business specifications.
  • Problem-Solving: Experience troubleshooting and investigating production issues with effective resolution recommendations.
  • Prototyping: Proficiency in listening to business requirements, documenting, and prototyping solutions.
  • Development Methodologies: Experience with structured and Agile methodologies for application development, design, and maintenance.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication: Ability to effectively communicate technical issues in non-technical terms to stakeholders.
  • Salesforce Products: Deep understanding of Salesforce products and industry best practices related to design, development, testing, business processes, workflow, reporting, and system sustainment.
  • Certifications: Salesforce.com Certifications (Admin, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and/or Developer).
  • Education: Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent training/experience.
