We are searching for the best talent for a Lead Analyst, Commercial Data & AI to join our J&J Orthopaedics team (DePuy Synthes). This position is remote US based.

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals.

Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes.

Purpose:

The Lead Analyst, Commercial Data & AI supports the end-to-end analytical and AI enablement workstream for the DePuy Synthes global commercial systems and operations to enable consistent data insights and user engagement. This role builds trusted datasets and KPI frameworks and delivers predictive and generative AI solutions that improve lead generation, opportunity management, customer engagement, and commercial execution. The Lead Analyst partners closely with Marketing, Product, Sales, and Data Strategies to ensure data quality, measurement integrity, and responsible AI practices.

You will be responsible for:

  • Build and govern customer data assets: Partner with Data Strategies to define source-of-truth datasets, data definitions, and quality monitoring; document logic and ensure reproducibility.
  • Data Quality & Integrity: Monitor and improve data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across systems.
  • GenAI for Commercial enablement: Prototype and evaluate generative AI use cases (e.g., message variant generation, subject line testing, content summarization, agent-assist) with clear guardrails, human validation layer, and measurement.
  • Stakeholder leadership: Partner on analytics intake and prioritization for CRM and other Commercial platforms; translate ambiguous questions into structured hypotheses, analytical plans, and deliverables.
  • Commercial measurement and insights: Define and standardize KPI frameworks, translate business needs into clean, usable data models, and communicate data structure insights to leaders and cross-functional partners.
  • Responsible data & AI: Ensure compliance with data privacy, consent, security, and AI governance policies; identify bias/fairness risks and propose mitigations.
  • Mentorship: Coach analysts on analytical rigor, SQL best practices, and experimentation while ensuring data quality, governance, and reproducibility.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree is required, MBA is preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive business experience is required. Experience in analytics, data science, or marketing/customer analytics, including hands-on CRM/lifecycle measurement is preferred.
  • Strong ability to clean, blend, and transform large, complex datasets from multiple sources is required.
  • Knowledge of orthopaedics products, procedures, and customer profiles is required.
  • Experience translating business questions into hypotheses, analytical approaches, and clear recommendations on optimal data structure to meet stakeholder needs.
  • Ability to partner effectively with cross-functional stakeholders and influence without direct authority.
  • Knowledge of data privacy concepts relevant to CRM (consent, suppression, PII handling) and comfort working within governance controls.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to create executive-ready materials.
  • Minimal travel may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced SQL skills (complex joins, window functions, CTEs) and experience working with large-scale, complex datasets is preferred.
  • Proven hands-on experience with Alteryx Designer to build, automate, and optimize end-to-end data workflows is preferred.
  • Experience with CRM and Commercial platforms (e.g. Salesforce Life Science Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Movemedical, Tableau Server).
  • Experience with cloud data warehouses (e.g., Reltio, AWS, Snowflake, SAP, Redshift, Databricks).
  • Experience with customer identity resolution, attribution approaches, and performance concepts.
  • Hands-on experience evaluating or implementing GenAI solutions (prompting, retrieval-augmented generation, evaluation/guardrails).
  • Experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and semantic modeling.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$94,000.00 - $151,800.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
