POSITION SUMMARY

This position serves as the sites Master Scheduler and oversees the Production Scheduling, Delivery Coordinators and other supporting function teams. They are responsible for development, release and maintenance of program master schedules, subsequent functional operating schedules and order release schedules. This position has overall responsibility of master scheduling which includes incorporating material and plant fabrication lead time setbacks, historical data and capacity inputs. The Master Scheduler is also responsible for coordinating the Sales, Inventory and Operations planning process, capacity review cycle (machine and manpower) and functioning of scheduling team. This entails the critical evaluation of used efficiency and utilization factors. The position requires significant interaction with schedulers and other plant personnel to ensure the schedule status is accurate and feasible and to provide necessary feedback to assure manufacturing throughput and support of customer requirements and sales commitments.

This role is based at our Washington, MO site and is not available as remote or hybrid.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position will support the SIOP process and be accountable for reporting the consolidated weekly schedule, monitoring progress to forecasted plan, while providing updates on risks and recommendations for review
  • The position requires the ability to collaborate with the scheduling Team on data collection for status updates, support the schedulers with strategies, risk mitigation, and back up tactical planning support for team absences, as well as interface with all cross functional disciplines while comfortably communicating with all levels of the organization.
  • Manage and direct the team of schedulers, delivery coordinators and other production support activities where applicable.
  • Conduct performance management activities including goal setting, annual reviews, creation of individual development plans for team members.
  • Developing production schedule for assigned products, providing sufficient lead time to procure raw materials and manufacturing components to meet production forecast requirements.
  • Manage Capacity plan and headcount fly forward.
  • Ensuring work centers are fully scheduled and planned.
  • Rescheduling the shop floor as required to meet lead time requirements.
  • Providing order administration with status and delivery information; identifying and removing obstacles that will hinder schedule attainment & performance.
  • Leveling order commitments to ensure achievement of customer requirements while maximizing efficiency and minimizing inventory.
  • Working closely with the Production Leadership determine that the needs and constraints of the manufacturing shop floor, technicians and schedules to ensure compliance and information accuracy.
  • Utilizing solution-based tactics/strategies to meet monthly targets.
  • Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Developing solutions plans for streamlining processes and mitigating risks so that material will flow more smoothly.
  • Analyzing risks to identify solutions and bottlenecks, including forward and reverse scheduling methods. Keeping schedule updated, as well as shop/machine loading plans, to predict bottlenecks or slack periods.
  • Ensuring accuracy of information, reconciling supply and demand, and validating scheduling requirements.
  • Adhering to all safety rules and policies as determined by the organization.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Industrial Engineering or the equivalent combination of training, education and experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years production scheduling experience required.
  • Aerospace industry knowledge is preferred.
  • Previous leadership experience and APICS Certification are both preferred.
  • Knowledge of Production Operations, Production Control, Scheduling, Distribution, Inventory Management, Re-Order Points (ROP) and MRP is helpful.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with superior proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • SAP experience required.
