What You'll do:

Groundswell is growing and looking for an Appian Business Analyst to join our team! This person will be responsible for partnering with our Appian product teams and potentially engaging customers to generate requirements specific to Appian applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Product Dev Managers in defining the minimum viable product (MVP) for a given application / product and the supporting release plans.

  • Conduct requirement discovery, data modeling, process improvement/reengineering analysis, process design, and models BPM applications, user interface design, and data interface requirement discovery.

  • Conduct discovery workshops with customer stakeholders to collect and document solution requirements.

  • Collaborate with Product Dev Managers and technology stakeholders (e.g., Systems Architects) to define new and or enhanced product requirements and functionality.

  • Collaborate with Product Dev Managers to support the prioritization of feature enablers defined by architects within the product roadmap.

  • Deliver and maintain user engagement analytics for the purpose of characterizing users (i.e. sectors, demographics, needs, requirements, etc.) and supporting case studies and other anecdotal information

  • Author user stories by breaking down big problems into small stories that provide value to users, with detailed acceptance criteria that developers and QA can rely upon to complete their tasks.

  • Work continuously with teams to provide answers, feedback and direction on work items, enablers, user stories.

  • Consult Product Dev Managers for guidance and clarity on the product vision, roadmap, requirements.

  • Collaborate with team to define the sprint plan based on the priority outlined within the overall product vision and roadmap.

  • Refine product requirements based on the input obtained through user engagements, sprint showcases, and demos.

  • Collaborate with the team to prepare the estimates for the user stories within the product backlog.

  • Conduct the formal review and acceptance of user stories implemented by a team.

  • Identify, track, and manage risks; escalate when necessary.

  • Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend solutions.

  • Design and implement complex data models based on customer application requirements.

  • Use tools such as TFS, Jira and Github for different project management responsibilities

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, IT or related field

  • 5+ years of experience in performing business analysis and refining requirements for information systems.

  • Strong communication at all levels of an organization (written and verbal)

  • Detail oriented with experience working on several products at one time

  • Experience working with common process-based documentation methods including use cases, Agile user stories, and process modeling.

  • This position is remote with ability to work east coast hours as needed

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain required federal government security clearance if needed. US citizenship required for clearance purposes.

The salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Groundswell, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

$74,230.00 - $142,250.00
