Practice Management Systems Support Specialist
Location: Remote
Reports To: Manager, Practice Management Systems
Position Overview
The Practice Management Systems (PMS) Support Specialist plays a critical role in supporting, maintaining, and optimizing veterinary software applications across Mission Pet Health hospitals. This position serves as a technical and operational resource for hospital teams, providing support for practice management systems, imaging platforms (PACS), third-party integrations, and software conversions.
The ideal candidate combines veterinary software expertise, strong technical troubleshooting skills, project coordination experience, and a passion for improving the hospital user experience through technology. This role works closely with hospital leadership, vendors, IT teams, and operational stakeholders to ensure reliable system performance, effective workflows, and successful technology adoption.
Key Responsibilities
Practice Management Systems Support
  • Provide advanced support for veterinary practice management systems including ezyVet, Cornerstone, AVImark, Impromed, Pulse, and other approved platforms.
  • Troubleshoot application issues, configuration concerns, workflow challenges, and user-reported problems.
  • Escalate software defects and complex issues to vendors while managing communication through resolution.
  • Support hospital teams with system optimization, workflow improvements, and best-practice recommendations.
  • Create and maintain knowledge base articles, troubleshooting guides, job aids, and training materials.

Conversions & Project Coordination
  • Coordinate veterinary software conversions, including project timelines, stakeholder communication, data migration activities, and go-live support.
  • Assist with implementation of new hospitals, mergers, acquisitions, and software rollouts.
  • Support testing and validation efforts for software upgrades, integrations, and new functionality.
  • Participate in project planning meetings and provide status updates to stakeholders.

Integrations & Technical Systems
  • Support third-party integrations including laboratory systems, payment processing, online scheduling, client communication platforms, and reporting tools.
  • Assist with integration troubleshooting and coordination between vendors and internal technical teams.
  • Support database migrations, data validation activities, and configuration changes.
  • Participate in evaluating new technologies for compatibility, security, and operational impact.

PACS & Imaging Systems Support
  • Support Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), digital radiography, dental imaging, ultrasound imaging, and associated veterinary imaging platforms.
  • Coordinate imaging system implementations, migrations, and vendor support activities.
  • Troubleshoot image transfer, storage, workflow, and connectivity issues between imaging systems and practice management platforms.
  • Assist hospitals with imaging workflow optimization and best practices.
  • Maintain documentation related to imaging system configurations and integrations.

Training & Continuous Improvement
  • Deliver basic user training and workflow coaching for hospital teams.
  • Support development and rollout of standardized workflows across hospitals.
  • Monitor trends in support requests and identify opportunities for proactive improvement.
  • Participate in software governance initiatives and contribute recommendations for system enhancements.

Responsibilities and Benefits
Qualifications
Required
  • 3+ years of experience supporting veterinary practice management systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in software and technical environments.
  • Experience coordinating projects, implementations, or system conversions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with software vendors and cross-functional teams.
  • Understanding of veterinary hospital workflows and operations.

Preferred
  • Experience with ezyVet and Pulse veterinary software platforms.
  • Experience supporting PACS, digital imaging, radiology, or veterinary imaging systems.
  • Knowledge of APIs, interfaces, and third-party system integrations.
  • Familiarity with Citrix, Remote Desktop, networking fundamentals, and application deployment.
  • Experience with software migrations, data conversions, or enterprise software rollouts.
  • Background in veterinary practice operations, hospital administration, or healthcare technology.
  • Experience supporting multi-site healthcare or veterinary organizations.
