Job Description

Essential Functions

  • Applies project management expertise and knowledge of drug development to gather information and incorporate input from functional Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to create and accurately maintain integrated project schedules / Gantt charts that serve as roadmaps to ensure delivery on assigned projects
  • Drives execution of projects by focusing on critical path activities and holding team members accountable for delivery of assigned tasks and addressing assigned issues and actions
  • Supports PML and other team members to ensure and maintain alignment between Integrated Product Development Plans (IPDPs) and Functional Matrix Team (FMT) plans
  • Supports PML in managing costs - partnering with finance and other team members to manage compilation of annual budgets ($ & FTE), control costs and ensure reforecasting is in line with operational plans
  • Supports PML on risk management activities - maintaining the risk register and monitoring execution of mitigation / contingency plans
  • Plays a key role in sharing of key information within the broader project team through management of the project team space (e.g., Project SharePoint site, MS Teams channel etc)
  • Ensures accurate portfolio reporting through accurate maintenance of key data in approved planning systems
  • Participates in implementing improvements to project management processes, tools and infrastructure to ensure ongoing efficiency across the organization

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Possesses good understanding of all phases of the drug development cycle and has some technical understanding toward the successful development and registration of pharmaceutical products
  • Fully trained in all relevant PM processes and can competently use and employ essential project management tools and methodologies to facilitate project team activities, manage risks and ensure project execution
  • Able to independently manage all stages of a development program
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills both one-on-one and in a team setting
  • Ability to work jointly with team leader to guide, motivate and influence project team members and ensure conflicting functional needs are recognized and resolved in a professional and timely manner
  • Ability to influence without authority and balance task requirements with personality issues to solve a broad range of problems in varying scope and complexity
  • Strong meeting management and process facilitation skills to actively lead project team meetings, record key decisions and actions for the projects
  • Ability to clearly communicate project status and resource constraints to senior team leaders
  • Eye for detail and ability to focus on constructing detailed schedules / Gantt charts
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Project); Planisware experience a plus, Smartsheets and Visio a plus

Required/Preferred Education and Licenses

  • Graduate Degree + 6 years of total experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferred, including minimum 4 years independently managing or leading cross-functional project teams in a drug development company
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) a plus

Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices and we strive to provide employees with total compensation packages that are market competitive.For this role, the full and complete base pay range is:

$141,600.00 - $212,400.00

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, and other pertinent factors. The goal is to ensure fair and competitive compensation aligned with the candidate's expertise and contributions, within the established pay framework and our Total Compensation philosophy. Internal equity considerations will also influence individual base pay decisions. This range will be reviewed on a regular basis.

At Jazz, your base pay is only one part of your total compensation package. The successful candidate may also be eligible for a discretionary annual cash bonus or incentive compensation (depending on the role), in accordance with the terms of the Company's Global Cash Bonus Plan or Incentive Compensation Plan, as well as discretionary equity grants in accordance with Jazz's Long Term Equity Incentive Plan.
