Job description

About the role:

Our Account Executives drive PetDesk’s growth by attracting new veterinary clinics and expanding relationships with existing customers within defined territories. In this remote role, you’ll manage the full sales cycle—from outbound prospecting to deep discovery qualification, demo, and close—while also converting inbound interest and partnering closely with our Sales Development team.

You’ll use a consultative, solution-oriented sales approach grounded in credibility, trust, and a deep understanding of veterinary practice needs. A successful AE never skips discovery, educates buyers, recommends the right PetDesk solutions across our product suite, and collaborates cross-functionally with Marketing, Implementation, Customer Success, and Product to guide prospects smoothly through each stage of the customer journey.

This role supports territories in the Central time zone, and this role's core working hours are 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Central Time. All candidates must be comfortable working those hours.

Apply if you're excited to:
  • Prospect, qualify, and nurture leads through consistent outbound activity, delivering tailored product demos that address the needs of veterinary practices

  • Manage an accurate pipeline and forecast by using Salesforce and Gong Deal Boards as your single sources of truth, ensuring complete, timely data that supports visibility and coaching

  • Lead high-quality sales conversations, reviewing call notes same-day, preparing stakeholders with full context, and guiding the agenda to address customer needs

  • Own key onboarding and handoff steps, including kickoff scheduling and payment-related transitions for new product sales, while leveraging automation to streamline the customer journey

  • Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Implementation, Customer Success, and Product to ensure a smooth, customer-centric experience from first touch through go-live

  • Demonstrate accountability and integrity by owning outcomes, solving problems proactively, maintaining ethical selling practices, and protecting customer information

  • Stay adaptable and growth-oriented, continuously learning through product updates, market trends, and new sales techniques

  • Travel approximately 10% for trade shows, sales kickoffs, customer events, and industry conferences

About You
  • 2+ years of full-cycle SaaS inside sales experience, with a track record of owning your pipeline, forecasting accurately, and hitting revenue targets

  • Hands-on CRM expertise (Salesforce preferred), with strong attention to detail in data accuracy, follow-ups, and documentation

  • Excellent communicator, especially over the phone—our sales motion is 95% virtual, so clarity, professionalism, and reliable follow-through are essential

  • Strong work ethic and learning mindset, staying coachable, applying feedback, and taking accountability for your performance

  • Natural problem solver who brings clear analysis, proposed solutions, and consistent follow-through

  • Collaborative team player who contributes to shared goals and works effectively with Marketing, Implementation, and Customer Success

  • You are committed to focusing your time and energy on this role exclusively; while we respect a strong hustle, we are not seeking candidates who are actively working multiple sales roles

  • Bonus points for experience in the veterinary industry or selling to small businesses

Benefits & Perks
  • Presidents Club for top, eligible sales performers!
  • Medical coverage for employees and dependents (80-90% covered by employer)
  • Employer HSA contribution with HDHP
  • 401(k) match up to 3.5%
  • Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
  • Dental & Vision coverage available
  • Basic Life and AD&D Insurance
  • Short and Long Term Disability
  • Flexible Time Off & 12 Paid Annual Holidays
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Pawternity Leave, Financial Pet Adoption Support & Subsidized Pet Insurance
  • $250 Annual Stipend for Learning and Development
Compensation: This role offers on-target earnings (OTE) of $110,000–$130,000 annually, consisting of a 50/50 split between base salary and uncapped commission. Earnings are driven by achievement of individual sales goals, providing strong upside for high performers.

PetDesk combines the industry's most user-friendly client engagement tools with the highest-rated pet parent app to simplify your veterinary clinic’s operations while strengthening client relationships.
