In this role you will be responsible for providing administrative support for all mortgage loan closing activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support for mortgage loan closings and prepare appropriate closing documents in accordance with loan program requirements.
  • Review all closing documents for completeness and accuracy, including title reports, lock confirmations, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure loan closings and documentation are completed in accordance with established company policies, procedures, and investor requirements.
  • Review loans for disbursement and obtain required approvals to satisfy closing conditions.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to member and credit union inquiries regarding loan policies, closing procedures, and loan status.
  • Research and retrieve information from closed loan files as needed.
  • Schedule closing appointments with title companies.
  • Answer questions and assist mortgage loan personnel before, during, and after loan closings.
  • Distribute loan information, including points paid, FHA servicing, funding, and shipping data to the appropriate departments.
  • Keep management informed of department activities and any significant issues.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Experience:

  • One year of prior mortgage closing experience is required.
  • Previous experience in mortgage lending, mortgage operations, or a related mortgage closing environment is preferred.


Education: High school diploma or GED required.


Other Skills:

  • General knowledge of mortgage loan services and closing procedures.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to build positive relationships with members, title companies, and internal teams.
  • Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use computer applications, including Microsoft Office and mortgage-related software.
  • Good math and calculation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under time constraints while managing multiple priorities.
  • Ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive financial information.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Frequent interaction with individuals both inside and outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and promoting cooperation.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, diplomacy, and tact when communicating with members, title companies, credit unions, and internal departments.


Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. The employee is frequently required to spend extended hours in front of a computer screen, to use hand to finger, to speak in and listen carefully on the telephone.


Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a remote office setting.

Compensation: $19.61-$24.51 per hour plus $15 per closed loan.
