How this role transforms workplaces:

  • The Benefits Specialist II is responsible for day-to-day administration of ASO and PEO Benefit programs in accordance with ERISA guidelines providing support for technical enrollment, benefit solutions and reporting to ensure efficient benefit administration and client satisfaction.
  • Xenium benefit programs may include S125, 401(k) plan, group health, life, disability, equivalent plans, voluntary benefits, COBRA and ACA.
  • This role provides independent and proactive direct consultation with client employees and management, and advises on eligibility, benefits provisions, compliance and other matters related to benefits programs.
  • Ensures Xenium Payroll receives accurate and timely information for benefit deduction administration including plan changes and adjustments.
  • Project manages annual open enrollment for multiple clients, including preparation and communication to clients and employees.
  • Ensures accurate and timely enrollment in Prism and carriers during open enrollment or for life events.
  • Handles new benefit implementation for existing clients to ensure accurate and timely enrollment in payroll and carriers.
  • Supports with benefit plan reconciliation research as needed.
  • Supports the development of Xenium benefit documentation and processes.
  • Trains new system client users on Benefit related reports and actions in Prism.
  • Works collaboratively with all service teams to ensure a high level of expertise and knowledge essential to Xenium clients.

Who you’ll work with:

Internal benefits team members, client contacts, plan administrators, benefit brokers & carriers, cross-functional colleagues in payroll and HR departments.

Required experience and skills:

  • Associate’s degree (A. A.) or above preferred, with at least three to five years of benefits experience. Benefit system experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including ACA, ERISA, Section 125, 401k, and DOL.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to situations. Ability to interpret statistical tables and formulas and to perform mathematical calculations.
  • Job requires specialized computer skills to include benefits systems. Must be adept at using various applications including payroll software, excel, report writing, project management, word processing, presentation creation/editing, e-mail and scheduling software. Experience with Prism, ClientSpace, and Monday.com preferred.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

The starting salary for this role ranges from $31.21 – 34.12 per hour, based on skills/knowledge, years of experience, and ensuring pay equity within the organization.
