Remote Pediatric Research involves conducting and analyzing pediatric clinical studies remotely, often requiring research-specific credentials. In contrast, Remote Pediatric Clinical Coordinators manage patient schedules and trial logistics remotely within healthcare settings. Both roles support pediatric research but differ in focus and required qualifications.

What is remote pediatric research?

Remote pediatric research involves conducting studies and collecting data related to children's health and development without requiring participants or researchers to be physically present at a specific location. This can include online surveys, telehealth interviews, remote monitoring using wearable devices, and virtual clinical trials. Remote pediatric research expands access to studies for families, reduces travel burden, and can increase participation from diverse populations. However, it also requires careful attention to data security, consent, and ensuring that remote methods are suitable for children.

What are some unique challenges faced by professionals working in remote pediatric research roles?

Professionals in remote pediatric research often face challenges coordinating with participants and healthcare providers across different locations. Ensuring consistent data collection and maintaining participant engagement remotely can require creative solutions, such as virtual check-ins and user-friendly digital tools. Additionally, strict adherence to privacy and ethical guidelines is crucial when handling sensitive data from children and families. Successful remote pediatric researchers are proactive communicators and adept at leveraging technology to foster collaboration and accurate research outcomes.

What key skills and qualifications are needed to thrive in Remote Pediatric Research, and why are they important?

Success in Remote Pediatric Research requires a strong background in pediatric medicine or clinical research, typically supported by a relevant degree and research experience. Familiarity with research software tools, secure data management systems, and virtual collaboration platforms is essential. Outstanding attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to work independently are crucial soft skills for this role. These abilities ensure research integrity, effective collaboration, and high-quality data collection while working remotely with pediatric populations.

Job description

Description

Who we are: Advanced Radiology Services is one of the largest 100% physician-owned radiology practices in the country. Our practice includes 190 radiologists, 40 advanced practice providers, and more than 180 employees providing administrative support in our wholly owned subsidiary STARS. We value diversity on our team and promote a culture of inclusion.ย

What we do: ARS provides services to more than 60 different sites across the state of Michigan. ARS is the exclusive radiology provider to West Michigan's largest Level I trauma center and research hospital, Corewell Health. ย American College of Radiology has designated Corewell a Diagnostic Center for Excellence. As a Joint Commission-accredited and certified Comprehensive Stroke Center and leading provider of comprehensive stroke care, Corewell Health is committed to fostering better outcomes for stroke patients.ย

What we are looking for: We are seeking a remote Neuroradiologist to cover overnights. The schedule would be 10 p to 7 a EST working 7 on and 14 off. This is ideal for someone living in the Pacific Time zone or Hawaii. This is a partnership track position with full compensation and benefits.ย

Responsibilities:

  • Brain, head and neck, and spine imaging with a full complement of advanced neuroimagingย
  • Majority of time on interpretation of ED and Inpatient neuroradiology examinationsย

Why do you want to do telerad for us? Although we are based in Michigan, we have a well-established teleradiology practice. ย We had remote physicians prior to COVID and currently have physicians working in 14 states. ย We utilize Intelerad PACS, PowerScribe 360 and Clario; we have outstanding IT infrastructure and 24/7 help desk support. Our remote radiologists are encouraged to participate in virtual section, committee and board meetings and their input is essential to our practice decisions. You will have outstanding colleagues working virtually by your side as we have dedicated body, cardiothoracic, ER, neuro, pediatric, musculoskeletal, and ultrasound readers on first and second shifts and body, ER, neuro, and pediatric readers on third shift.

Compensation/Benefits: We are offering a newly approved 75K recruitment incentive (sign on bonus) for remote readers, competitive compensation plan, stipends for on-site shifts, and opportunities for additional shifts on a month to month basis. Our physicians pay $0 for single or family medical/dental/vision coverage and enjoy an $18,000 medical reimbursement account annually. ย We also contribute the maximum amount allowed to the 401K plan ($72,000 in 2026). ย We have a brand new 6-week paid parental leave benefit!

Why is our practice unique? ARS is a 100% physician owned and managed practice. ย We are committed to remaining independent. ย We are looking for entrepreneurial minded physicians who value involvement in decision making and developing our business strategy. Participation in section, committee and board meetings is not required but welcomed from day one for on-site and virtual employees. While we are an independent private practice, some of our physicians practice with an academic focus. In affiliation with Michigan State University College of Medicine, our radiologists have opportunities to teach and mentor residents and pursue research if desired. Due to the size and breadth of the healthcare systems we support, diagnostic volume and variety of clinical exposure is unrivaled. ย

Requirements

  • American Board of Radiology or American Osteopathic Board of Radiology certified
  • Fellowship in Neuroradiology and CAQ in Neuroradiology is required (or CAQ eligibility)
