The Company
We are a vertically integrated group of companies operating across the New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut tri-state market with two core profit engines:
• Restoration — Fire and water damage restoration, mitigation, and reconstruction — a rapid-response operation built around real-time fire alerts, field representatives (“fire chasers”) deployed borough by borough, an overseas remote sales and calling team, insurance-funded reconstruction work, and disciplined receivables collection including mechanic’s lien enforcement.
• Real Estate — Residential fix-and-flip real estate investing — acquisition of distressed and fire-damaged properties, in-house renovation through our own construction entity, and profitable resale. Deals are underwritten using ARV analysis, the 70% rule, and full pro forma discipline across NY, NJ, and CT markets.
The two businesses feed each other: fire losses generate both restoration contracts and acquisition opportunities. The Owner has built the systems, playbooks, vendor network, and deal pipeline over decades. What is now required is a single, accountable operator to run the entire machine.
The Mandate
We are seeking one exceptional individual — a true operator — to be trained by the Owner over a structured 30–60 day immersion period and then run the combined business as if it were their own, with minimal day-to-day input from the Owner.
This is not a coordinator or back-office role. It is a profit-center leadership position. The General Manager will own the numbers: revenue, job margin, deal margin, collections, and net profit across both business lines.
Key Responsibilities
Restoration Operations:
• Command the 24/7 fire-alert response cycle: monitor alert platforms, dispatch field chasers, coordinate office representatives and sign-ups in real time, and drive contract capture rates.
• Manage and scale the overseas remote sales and calling team — scripts, quality, conversion metrics, and daily output following each fire alert.
• Oversee active mitigation and reconstruction jobs: scheduling, subcontractor coordination, budgets, and completion timelines.
• Drive collections aggressively: track receivables, coordinate with attorneys on lien filings and enforcement, and keep cash conversion tight.
Fix-and-Flip Operations:
• Source and screen acquisition opportunities, including fire-damaged and distressed properties surfaced through the restoration business.
• Run deal underwriting: ARV analysis, 70% rule screening, renovation budgets, and full pro forma before any offer is made.
• Manage renovation execution through the in-house construction entity and subcontractor crews — scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
• Oversee disposition: listing strategy, pricing, and closing coordination to maximize realized profit per project.
Whole-Business Leadership:
• Own the consolidated P&L across all entities; report to the Owner weekly with clear numbers, not narratives.
• Hire, train, manage, and where necessary replace team members — remote callers, field chasers, office staff, and crews.
• Systematize: document SOPs, tighten workflows, and reduce the business’s dependence on any single person, including the Owner.
Training & Transition
The Owner will personally train the selected candidate through an intensive 30-day immersion, extending to 60 days as needed. Training covers the full playbook: alert-to-contract workflow, sales scripts, job management, lien and collections strategy, deal underwriting, renovation management, and financial controls. By day 60, the General Manager is expected to be running daily operations independently, with the Owner in an advisory and oversight role only.
Compensation & Profit Participation
• A competitive fixed monthly compensation, commensurate with experience and benchmarked for senior remote leadership talent in India.
• Performance profit participation: once the business exceeds its established baseline profit — and particularly as the General Manager doubles or triples that baseline — they will earn a share of profits above baseline, targeted at approximately 10%, formalized in a written incentive agreement.
• The intent is simple: the person who grows the profit shares in the profit. A high performer in this seat should expect their upside to substantially exceed their fixed compensation over time.
The Ideal Candidate
• 8–15+ years of progressive operations or general management experience, ideally with P&L ownership — backgrounds in construction, real estate, insurance, restoration, facilities services, BPO/KPO operations leadership, or U.S.-market remote operations are all strong fits.
• Proven record of running a business unit to measurable profit results — someone who talks in numbers and delivers them.
• Exceptional English communication; comfortable directing U.S.-based field staff, subcontractors, attorneys, and adjusters by phone and video.
• Fully committed to U.S. Eastern Time working hours, with responsiveness during fire-alert surges outside normal hours.
• Ruthlessly organized, diligent, and self-directed — requires goals, not supervision.
• High integrity and complete trustworthiness: this person will handle contracts, financials, and sensitive company information.
• An ownership mentality — someone seeking a long-term seat where they build and share in something, not a job-hopper seeking a title.
