The Opportunity with McKinstry

We are adding a Sr. Manager, Facility Operations Engineering to our growing team in Seattle. In this role, you will be responsible for defining and directing the strategic vision, growth, and performance of McKinstry's Remote Operations Center (ROC)- a critical pillar within the evolving Active Intelligence Center - a cornerstone of McKinstry's Facility Solutions enterprise. This role is accountable for shaping the ROC's long-term strategy, ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities, and driving execution that delivers measurable impact across regions and business units.

This role is pivotal in advancing McKinstry's remote operations, analytics, and service delivery model-positioning the ROC as an enterprise-wide enabler of scalable, technology-enabled facility solutions. By fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement, this leader will elevate organizational capability, expand strategic partnerships, and strengthen McKinstry's competitive differentiation in the marketplace.

This Director role moves beyond day-to-day management-it is an enterprise-shaping leadership position charged with establishing new strategy and implementing the future of McKinstry's remote operations model. With some customer facing responsibilities, this position dives deep into understanding customer challenges to continue to build and improve our solution sets. By integrating technology, talent, and process innovation, the Director ensures the ROC not only delivers exceptional service today but also positions McKinstry for scalable, high-value growth tomorrow.

Strategy Development and Execution

  • Define and drive a multi-year roadmap for ROC growth, technology advancement, and enterprise integration.

  • Align ROC strategy with Facility Solutions and corporate priorities to deliver measurable outcomes.

  • Partner across McKinstry teams to build customer relationships and deep dive into complex client challenges

  • Lead long-range planning and capability development to meet evolving client and enterprise needs.

Enterprise Partnership and Influence

  • Collaborate with executive and BU leaders on initiatives that enhance operational excellence and data integration.

  • Serve as a strategic liaison to ensure ROC systems and services strengthen enterprise delivery.

  • Contribute to governance, technology roadmaps, and investment planning to improve performance.

Operational and Financial Leadership

  • Oversee national ROC operations to ensure performance against SLAs, quality, and contractual goals.

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and investment planning aligned to strategic objectives.

  • Establish KPIs and frameworks for operational visibility and accountability.

People Leadership and Organizational Development

  • Build and empower a high-performing leadership team capable of scaling operations.

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry

  • Expert communication and visionary acumen to create and execute long-term planning.

Qualifications

  • Technical Degree / Bachelor's in Computer Science, Data, or Engineering (desired).

  • 7+ years of industry experience, with controls industry experience preferred.

  • Experience managing and coordinating team needs, priorities, and schedules.

  • Experience designing and executing long-term strategy planning and organizational development.

  • Proven ability to deliver on contractual commitments and client expectations.

The pay range for this position is $126,900 - $217,200per year; however, base pay offered my vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This is a non-exempt role and will be paid hourly. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
