As a remote operations manager, you work from home to monitor business operations, plan a budget, and come up with strategies to improve efficiency, quality, and profits. Some of your job responsibilities vary depending on the industry in which you work. In fields such as production, you oversee quality assurance (QA) operations. In all positions, you coordinate with employees and departments and run meetings virtually. Some jobs require you to visit work or production sites occasionally.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Operations Manager, and why are they important?

To succeed as a Remote Operations Manager, you need strong leadership, project management, and organizational skills, usually supported by a relevant degree and operations experience. Job description

Regional Field Operations Supervisor - South Florida

At Author Health, weโ€™re revolutionizing how mental health care is delivered, and we want you to be part of it! Our mission is to bring compassionate, high-quality care to people with serious mental illness, substance use disorders, and dementia, including older adults.

We donโ€™t just treat symptoms. We treat people โ€” fully, holistically, and with heart! Through our virtual-first, innovative care model, we deliver community-based wrap-around outpatient mental health care inclusive of psychiatric, psychotherapeutic and care management services. We partner with primary care providers, hospitals, families, and caregivers to keep patients out of the hospital and empower them to live healthier, more connected lives.

At Author, inclusivity isnโ€™t a checkbox. Itโ€™s how we build trust and drive better outcomes! We honor the unique cultures, identities, and stories that shape every patientโ€™s experience, and weโ€™re creating a workplace where team members can show up as their full selves, too.

If youโ€™re driven by purpose, ready to shake up the status quo, and eager to make a real impact in peopleโ€™s lives, weโ€™d love to meet you. Letโ€™s build the future of mental health care together!

As the Regional Field Supervisor, you will lead a team of field-based individuals who are the primary "boots on the ground" connecting with individuals in the community. You are responsible for the daily coordination, performance, and professional development of your team. This is an operational leadership role that requires a "player-coach" mentalityโ€”spending significant time in the field to mentor staff while using data to ensure the team is reaching the right people at the right time.

This role involves travel throughout South Florida, from Miami through Palm Beach. Mileage reimbursement is provided.

YOUR SUPERPOWERS IN ACTION

You will support a team of field-based individuals to maximize their abilities to reach patients and create access to behavioral health services:

  • Field Leadership & Coaching: Direct and mentor a team of Outreach Liaisons and Facilitated Telehealth Coordinators. You will conduct regular "ride-alongs" and field visits to provide real-time coaching on engagement techniques, safety protocols, and professionalism.

  • Data-Driven Management: Monitor team activity and engagement metrics daily via our dashboards. You will use this data to identify high-traffic outreach zones, address performance gaps, and report on the overall health of the market.

  • Market Strategy & Logistics: Identify and vet community-based locations (PCP offices, community centers, shelters, local agencies) for effective outreach. You will manage the teamโ€™s schedule to ensure consistent, high-impact presence across the market. You may also support Authorโ€™s relationships with these community partners.

  • Operational Excellence: Streamline the transition of information from the field to our internal enrollment systems. You will ensure all data collected by the team is accurate, timely, and compliant with HIPAA regulations.

  • Hiring & Onboarding: Lead the recruitment and training of new team members as the market scales, ensuring they are deeply rooted in the community and aligned with Author Healthโ€™s mission.

  • Resource Management: Oversee the allocation of outreach materials and travel plans to ensure the team has the tools necessary to succeed in the field.

You will ensure new and existing patients can successfully access and utilize our virtual-first care model:

  • Conduct strategic in-person outreach to doctor's offices, hospitals, and patients' homes to educate potential patients, caregivers, and providers about Author Health's mission and services.

  • Establish rapport with resistant patients and excel at quickly building trusting relationships.

  • Navigate complex healthcare and social service systems to effectively guide patients through care options.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Seasoned Manager: You have at least 5 years of experience in front-line management, specifically leading field-based teams in community health, social services, or mobile operations.

  • Data-Fluent: You are comfortable using technology to drive results. You can look at a dashboard, identify a trend, and pivot your teamโ€™s daily plan based on what the numbers are saying.

  • Accountability: You are comfortable holding yourself and your team responsible for targets and outcomes.

  • Local Resident: You reside in the same market as the staff you supervise. You know the neighborhoods, the local challenges, and the geography of the region intimately.

  • Mission-Oriented: You have a deep respect for the populations we serve (SMI, SUD, and dementia) and can foster an environment of empathy and resilience for your team.

  • Organized & Independent: You thrive in a startup environment where you are expected to take ownership of your marketโ€™s operations with minimal daily oversight.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in community health, human services, or non-profit program management.

  • Experience leading teams in a high-growth or startup setting.

  • Bilingual skills are a significant plus (English-Spanish or Haitian Creole)

WHAT WE OFFER
  • Compensation: Competitive base salary with individual performance-based bonus structure.

  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive benefits package for employee and dependents (medical/dental/vision/STD/life insurance).

  • Financial Security: Retirement savings plan (401k) with up to 3.5% company match. Mileage reimbursement for extensive field travel.

  • Time Off: Generous paid vacation and sick leave. 11 paid holidays throughout the year (9 standard + 2 flex holidays).

This role is ideal for professionals who excel in autonomous, field-based environments and possess exceptional emotional intelligence and resilience.
