Job description

Royal Camp Services provides industry leading remote location accommodations for workforce housing. We offer long-term and seasonal employment in the culinary, hospitality, remote site services, and remote site operations industries.

We have a full-time medical coverage opening for a Placement Coordinator to work out of our South Edmonton office. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently in an environment which requires many quick decisions throughout the day. Daily goals can only be met by responding to sudden last minute challenges with an organized and positive approach.

A typical shift for a Placement Coordinator includes contacting staff via phone, email, and text to arrange future assignments at various remote sites, database data entry, and supervising field staff during the morning transportation process.

Placement Coordinator duties include but are not limited to

  • Coordinate field staff with work assignments based upon their skill level and remote site requirements
  • Maintain an active available employee list and communicate to Operations about staffing needs
  • Act as the liaison between drivers, field staff, partner companies, and office staff
  • Verify field staff safety certifications and fit-for-duty status
  • Provide break and sick day coverage of front reception by directing all incoming calls to the appropriate office staff while greeting customers and clients to the office
  • Assist with warehouse order picking and cleaning duties
  • Complete, manage, and distribute daily operational documentation
  • Record and maintain accurate employee database records
  • Book hotels, taxis, and buses
  • Issue minor disciplinary infractions to staff
  • Other miscellaneous duties as required

Position Requirements

  • Available for full-time work Monday through Friday
  • Available to start at either 6:30AM or 8:00AM
  • This position requires on-call availability for evenings and weekends
  • Experience coordinating employee work assignments in a high call volume environment an asset
  • Post-secondary education an asset
  • Limited travel to remote sites across Western Canada
  • Strong Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel skills required
  • Ability to multi-task and handle constant interruptions
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Proven time management abilities
