OVERVIEW
The Field Sales Manager, Performance is responsible for driving sales growth, marketplace execution, and brand leadership across Salomon's specialty performance business within an assigned geographic region. This role serves as the primary field representative for Salomon, building strong retailer relationships, driving sell-through, executing brand initiatives, and ensuring exceptional retail presentation and consumer engagement.
The Field Sales Manager acts as a key extension of the Sales Director, partnering closely with independent sales agencies, specialty retailers, and cross-functional teams to identify growth opportunities, influence account performance, and strengthen Salomon's position within the running, trail running, outdoor, and specialty sporting goods marketplace.
This role requires a highly collaborative and entrepreneurial commercial leader capable of combining strategic business planning with hands-on field execution.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily:
Territory Leadership & Business Development
  • Develop and execute annual regional business plans aligned with Salomon's commercial objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to expand distribution, increase market share, and strengthen brand presence within the specialty performance channel.
  • Partner with Sales Leadership to develop growth strategies for key markets, customer segments, and product categories.
  • Monitor account performance and proactively identify opportunities to improve sales, sell-through, and profitability.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of marketplace trends, competitor activities, and consumer behaviors.

Retail Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with retail owners, buyers, store managers, and frontline sales associates.
  • Serve as the primary field contact for Salomon within the assigned territory.
  • Influence retailers to support Salomon's brand, seasonal initiatives, and assortment strategies.
  • Lead regular business reviews with key independent retail partners.
  • Support account retention and identify opportunities to strengthen strategic partnerships.

Sell-Through & Retail Excellence
  • Drive execution of seasonal initiatives and in-store programs that improve consumer engagement and product sell-through.
  • Conduct store visits to evaluate merchandising, inventory positioning, product presentation, and overall brand execution.
  • Deliver recommendations and action plans to improve retail performance.
  • Partner with retailers to maximize sales opportunities and consumer conversion.
  • Ensure premium presentation of Salomon products and adherence to brand standards.

Product Training & Brand Advocacy
  • Lead product knowledge clinics, seasonal sell-in meetings, and retailer training programs.
  • Educate retail staff on product technologies, innovation stories, category strategies, and consumer benefits.
  • Act as a Salomon brand ambassador within the regional performance community.
  • Support product launches, events, demos, races, and grassroots marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to execute local activation opportunities.

Agency & Representative Management
  • Support and influence independent sales representatives and agency partners to ensure consistent execution of business objectives.
  • Align field priorities, seasonal initiatives, and sales strategies across assigned agencies.
  • Monitor performance and effectiveness of agency activities.
  • Ensure timely communication and execution of sales initiatives within the territory.

Marketplace Intelligence & Business Planning
  • Gather and communicate marketplace feedback and competitive intelligence.
  • Provide strategic recommendations regarding assortment opportunities, pricing dynamics, and retail trends.
  • Partner with Sales Operations and Sales Leadership on forecasts, account planning, and territory management.
  • Contribute insights that support annual planning and seasonal go-to-market strategies.

Qualifications
