Our client, a nationally ranked organization is seeking an Accounting Manager to support a portfolio of mission-driven nonprofit organizations. This is a high-visibility opportunity to join a collaborative, growth-oriented team supporting nonprofit clients across the country in a fully remote environment.

About the Role

Location: Fully remote (DMV preferred, not required)

Team: 35-person nonprofit FAO practice

Reason for Opening: Continued practice growth and long-term succession planning

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations for multiple nonprofit clients
  • Oversee monthly close, financial reporting, reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis
  • Ensure accurate fund accounting and grant compliance
  • Assist with audit preparation and external auditor coordination
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff within a multi-client environment
  • Partner with leadership on process improvements and technology optimization initiatives

Qualifications

  • 7-10+ years of accounting/finance experience
  • Strong nonprofit accounting experience (fund accounting, grants, donor restrictions)
  • Prior outsourced accounting, or public accounting experience preferred
  • Experience reviewing work and managing staff
  • CPA preferred
  • Experience with systems such as Intacct, QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar platforms
