Overview
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient review of the non-profit charity's financial operations, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, and compliance. This role involves coordinating with internal teams, external auditors, and stakeholders to support the charity's mission while ensuring adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements and standards.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the accounting and financial operations of the non-profit charity ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring they accurately reflect the charity's financial position and performance.
  • Monitor and reconcile accounts, including donations, restricted funds, and other revenue sources, ensuring proper recording and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with all non-profit regulatory and tax requirements, including IRS Form 990 and other necessary filings.
  • Work closely with internal teams to assess and improve financial processes and controls.
  • Coordinate with external auditors for any audits and assist with the preparation of audit schedules and documentation.
  • Provide financial analysis and reports to senior leadership, donors, and key stakeholders to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to accounting staff and volunteers as needed.
  • Support the integration of the non-profit charity's financial systems with the broader financial operations of the publicly traded company.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA is a plus).
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a non-profit environment or working with charitable organizations.
  • Strong understanding of non-profit accounting principles, including fund accounting, grants, and IRS regulations.
  • Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting in a non-profit or public company setting.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (experience with Oracle Fusion) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of auditing standards and experience coordinating audits.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
