Salary: $56,000-$62,000 DOE

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Home Health Medical Coder to support diagnostic coding in a fully remote, nonclinical capacity. This role focuses on accurate ICD10CM code assignment using established home health coding guidelines and internal workflows.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review patient documentation to abstract diagnoses for ICD10CM coding in accordance with defined home health coding instructions
  • Assign ICD10CM diagnosis codes following established internal standards and sequencing guidance
  • Apply HCSD knowledge to ensure accurate code selection and appropriate escalation when documentation is unclear
  • Flag documentation discrepancies, missing information, or coding questions for clinical or QA review
  • Meet established productivity and accuracy standards
  • Communicate coding questions through defined escalation pathways
  • Maintain current knowledge of ICD10CM guidelines relevant to assigned duties


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of medical coding experience, with demonstrated experience in home health coding
  • Strong working knowledge of ICD10CM coding guidelines applicable to home health services
  • Ability to work independently within defined workflows and under clinical review processes
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and timemanagement skills
  • Comfortable working in a fully remote environment with minimal supervision


Required Certification

  • HCSD certification required
