Often, 'remote' roles may mean over-the-road (OTR) or regional truck driving jobs where drivers cover long distances and communicate with dispatch remotely, rather than reporting daily to a physical office. NFI offers various remote trucking positions, including full-time, part-time, and dedicated routes, providing drivers with flexibility and the ability to be based in different locations. These roles typically require a commercial driver’s license (CDL) and some trucking experience. NFI supports drivers with remote communication tools, route planning, and logistics support to ensure efficient and safe operations.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote NFI truck driver?

To thrive as a Remote NFI Truck Driver, you need a valid commercial driver's license (CDL), a clean driving record, and knowledge of DOT regulations. Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs), GPS navigation systems, and fleet management software is typically required. Strong time management, communication skills, and self-motivation are essential soft skills for operating independently and meeting delivery deadlines. These skills and tools ensure safe, efficient, and reliable freight transportation, which is critical for both customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance.

Remote NFI trucking drivers often face challenges such as long hours on the road, maintaining consistent communication with dispatch, and managing time effectively for deliveries and compliance with regulations. • Support new-coach introductions and in-service vehicles by investigating product concerns, documenting findings, and helping customers achieve reliable vehicle operation.
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, Warranty, Parts, Service, and other internal teams to investigate technical issues, identify containment actions, and support permanent corrective solutions.
  • Document customer concerns, diagnostic steps, repairs, technical findings, and unresolved product issues accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Identify recurring or emerging field issues and provide clear technical feedback to internal teams to support product and service improvements.
  • Support service campaigns, field modifications, warranty activities, and other customer-service initiatives as required.
  • Build strong working relationships with customer maintenance teams by providing responsive, practical, and professional technical support.
  • Share technical knowledge and best practices with customer technicians and internal service personnel through hands-on coaching and technical guidance.
  • Participate in scheduled after-hours or emergency technical support coverage as required.
