To thrive as a Remote Musician, you need strong musical proficiency, self-discipline, and a solid understanding of music theory, often backed by relevant training or experience. What are remote musicians?

Remote musicians are professional or amateur music artists who perform, record, compose, or collaborate on music projects from a location outside of a traditional studio or venue, often from home or a personal studio. They use digital tools and online platforms to connect with other musicians, producers, and clients worldwide. Remote musicians may be hired for session work, live-streamed performances, recording tracks, or teaching music lessons online. This flexible arrangement allows musicians to work with people globally, expanding their opportunities and creative collaborations.

How do remote musicians typically collaborate with producers and other artists on projects?

Remote musicians often use digital audio workstations (DAWs), cloud storage, and communication tools like Zoom or Slack to collaborate with producers and fellow artists. Tracks and project files are shared online, allowing each contributor to record, edit, and provide feedback asynchronously. Clear communication, organized file management, and timely updates are essential to ensure a smooth workflow and maintain creative alignment, even when team members are in different time zones.

Job description

Leland is building the home for ambition in the age of AI. We connect people with the experts, programs, and communities they need to land the job, get into the school, or upskill for a world being rewritten by AI. We help businesses become AI-native through training, hiring, and infrastructure. Since our founding in 2021, we've helped tens of thousands of people reach their most ambitious goals and raised $19M from world-class investors. Ambition is sacred to us, and we've built a product that takes that seriously.
We're seeking an experienced music coach to work with students pursuing careers or serious growth in music. This role includes teaching music theory, songwriting, and performance techniques, guiding students through music production, and helping them build their craft through consistent, focused skill building. Coaches also support the professional side of a music career, including resume review, interview prep, and salary negotiation for students pursuing roles in the industry, as well as freelancing, music marketing, and networking strategy for students building an independent artistic career. Ideal candidates have professional experience as a musician, producer, or industry professional, prior teaching or coaching experience, and a clear, structured approach to breaking down both technical and creative concepts. Coaches set their own hours and rates, host sessions virtually, and partner with our team to deliver a high-quality, supportive experience for every student.
Why Leland?

  • Work in a collaborative, high-energy environment where your contributions have a direct impact
  • Operate in a fast-paced, AI-native environment
