Job description

Zippy was founded with one mission: to make getting a loan for a manufactured home simple, fast, and fully online. We believe modern manufactured homes are affordable, well-built, eco-friendly, and stylish, but finding a lender who understands this market can be challenging. That's why Zippy focuses exclusively on manufactured home loans, offering a seamless, digital experience.
Headquartered in Dallas, TX, with an office in Tempe, AZ, Zippy provides home loans and insurance to manufactured home buyers throughout the United States. Our remote-first team is spread across cities like Dallas, Houston, Knoxville, Omaha, Philadelphia, Phoenix, and several other states and cities. Backed by institutional investors, we offer competitive pay, stock options, and excellent benefits. At Zippy, we pride ourselves on our commitment to finance happiness through the power of home. We are dedicated to enhancing consumers' financial outcomes and tackling the affordable housing crisis through cutting-edge technology and innovative solutions.
The Role
The Senior Post Close Operations Specialist is responsible for managing all activities after loan closing through funding, investor delivery, and loan sale. This role serves as the centralized owner of post-close execution, ensuring loans move efficiently off the warehouse line and are delivered to investors without delay or defects.
This is a hands-on, execution-heavy role focused on investor readiness, funding coordination, audit remediation, and process troubleshooting. The position requires strong cross-functional coordination with QA, Accounting, Originations, and Capital Markets.
This is not a passive administrative role - it is an active problem-solving and process ownership function responsible for removing blockers and driving loans to sale.
Desired Mentality:
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Detail-oriented with high-risk awareness
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting mindset
  • Ability to operate in fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Excellent communication and cross-team coordination
  • Process-driven with continuous improvement focus
Anticipated Responsibilities:
  • Own investor findings & remediation: Identify and resolve post-close defects with QA and internal teams. Drive fixes quickly to meet investor timelines and avoid delays.
  • Manage loan sale & investor delivery: Prepare and deliver loan packages to investors. Track which loans are sellable vs. blocked and act.
  • Keep loans moving off the warehouse line: Monitor aging and ensure loans do not sit too long. Reduce capital exposure by pushing loans through funding/sale.
  • Coordinate funding readiness: Validate all prior-to-funding conditions are cleared. Reconcile payoffs, liens, and funding details. Signal Accounting when loans are ready to be funded.
  • Troubleshoot insurance issues: Ensure policies are bound correctly. Resolve discrepancies that could delay funding or sale.
  • Growth & leadership opportunity: This role begins as an individual contributor with full ownership of post-close operations, with a clear path to team leadership and broader functional ownership as the business scales.

Qualifications:
  • 3-5+ years in mortgage operations, post-close, capital markets, or similar role
  • Experience with loan sales, warehouse lending or investor delivery
  • Strong understanding of loan life cycle from closing to sale and investor requirements/document standards.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple loans/deadlines simultaneously and troubleshoot complex operational issues.
  • Comfortable in an uncertain, fast-paced environment that will evolve as our technology and business scales.
  • High attention to detail and process oriented
  • Proactive and autonomous worker.
  • Collaborative and innovative with a strong desire for the entire team to win together.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software tools.
  • Proficient in technology and changing environments.
  • Undergraduate degree or extended relevant work experience.

Important Applicant Information
  • While many of our interviews are conducted virtually, all applicants should be prepared to potentially meet in person as part of the process.
  • As a participating employer, we will use E-Verify to confirm employment eligibility.
  • Please note that we are currently only hiring candidates who reside in the following states: Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Wisconsin.
