Job Title - SDWAN Engineer

Location - Plano, TX (Hybrid 2-3 days onsite)

Mode of Hiring: Contract

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Architecture: Develop comprehensive network architectures and designs leveraging VMware VeloCloud SD-WAN technology to meet client requirements.
  • Implementation: Lead the deployment and configuration of SD-WAN solutions, ensuring seamless integration with existing network infrastructure.
  • Consulting: Conduct network assessments and recommend performance optimization and security enhancements. Lead technical discussions and provide expertise on SDWAN best practices and industry trends.
  • Operations Support: Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues related to SDWAN deployments. Provide ongoing support and optimization for existing solutions.
  • Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize network performance, identifying and resolving issues to maintain high levels of reliability and efficiency.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with clients, MSPs, and internal teams to understand business needs and translate them into effective network solutions. Technical coordination with the OEM support in the event of any Technology assistance
  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed network documentation, including design diagrams, configuration guides, and operational procedures.
  • Security: Implement and enforce network security best practices to protect client data and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends related to SDWAN and VMware VeloCloud. Provide training and support to clients and internal teams on SD-WAN technologies and best practices.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in VMware VeloCloud SD-WAN technology.
  • Hands-on experience with VMware VeloCloud platform (including Orchestrator VCO, Cloud Gateway - VCG), including design, Implementation, configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • Experience in zero touch provisioning of SD-WAN edge devices.
  • Must have at least 5 - 8 years of experience designing, deploying, and implementing Velo Cloud SDWAN Edge and Route/Switch hardware.
  • Experience creating logical design models in VCO VeloCloud Orchestrator.
  • Integration of circuits to SD-WAN devices
  • Working technical knowledge of network control protocols (QOS, PfR, PoE, NTP, DHCP), network management protocols (CDP, FTP, VCMP, SNMP) and security protocols (SSH, HTTPS, AAA, IPSec, TrustSec).
  • Strong knowledge of IP communication and routing (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP) is required. Experience with inter-company routing is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, routing (MPLS, BGP, OSPF), and switching.
  • Advanced knowledge of HSRP, GLBP, and VRRP protocols.
  • Knowledge in QoS, MQoS, queuing techniques, policing, shaping, marking, etc.,
  • Experience with network security principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with cloud networking and virtualization technologies.
  • Knowledge of API and Webhook integrations.
  • Experience creating logical design models in VCO VeloCloud Orchestra
  • Strong knowledge of IP communication and routing is required (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP). Experience with inter-company routing is preferred technology.
