As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platform - SDWAN team, you apply deep knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Continue to evolve your technical and cross-functional knowledge outside of your aligned domain of expertise. In this SDWAN-focused role, you will help design and build a next-generation SDWAN ecosystem with integrated management, monitoring, and analytics, partnering closely with engineering, product, and architecture teams to deliver outcomes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Uses enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate infrastructure analysis and design documentation, validating outputs and handling operational data according to sensitivity and security requirements.
  • Applies reuse-first, AI-assisted practices within delivery and automation routines to identify recurring issues and validate remediation options, ensuring changes are traceable/auditable and aligned to resiliency and security expectations.
  • Lead and contribute to the architecture, evaluation, and standardization of SDWAN and emerging network communication technologies, products, and solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and business units to define current state and future direction of the SDWAN technology landscape.
  • Lead and collaborate in the development of technical design solutions and architecture artifacts (e.g., functional architecture, HLD/LLD).
  • Capture, analyze, decompose, and document requirements for systems, products, and subsystems of moderate to high complexity.

  • Drive product design deliverables and stakeholder alignment, anticipating problems and defining mitigation strategies to reduce risk and ensure successful delivery.
  • Lead test strategy and execution (test plans, test cases, use cases) and support implementation across stakeholders.
  • Apply security/cybersecurity methodologies to network and systems design to deliver secure services aligned to business requirements.
  • Provide regular updates on progress, risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigation plans; manage delivery within schedule and resource constraints.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to support infrastructure engineering workflows with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity.
  • Ability to review and validate AI-assisted recommendations before implementation, escalating when uncertain and ensuring outcomes align to resiliency, security, and auditability expectations.
  • Hands-on SDWAN network engineering experience across design, implementation, and support.
  • Strong background supporting complex network environments in a global organization.
  • Hands-on experience producing design artifacts (functional architecture, HLD/LLD) and driving implementation with stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead requirements analysis, translate intent into technical outcomes, and define delivery/operational guardrails.
  • Demonstrated application of security/cybersecurity methodologies in network and systems design.
  • Advanced knowledge in SDWAN, core networking/routing, network virtualization, and network automation concepts.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to clearly articulate technical design and architecture to stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Industry-recognized SDWAN certification (preferred).
  • Experience with one or more major SDWAN platforms.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Layer 2/Layer 3 and overlay/underlay interactions in SDWAN.
  • Working knowledge of network automation practices and tools (e.g., API-driven operations, scripting).
  • Familiarity with network security fundamentals relevant to operating production networks.
