Position Overview
Kiewit is seeking an experienced driven and experienced Digital Project Execution Manager (DEM) Lead to join our Digital project Execution (DPE) team. This dual-role leader will oversee the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of project information systems and standards while also engaging in day-to-day project delivery, requirement gathering, stakeholder facilitation, and digital handover coordination.
This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise, strategic leadership, and strong interpersonal skills to support cross-functional teams in Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning (EPCC) environments. The successful candidate will also be deeply involved in the development and enforcement of information governance, metadata strategy, and lifecycle data management across enterprise and project-level initiatives.

This position is within the Kiewit Technology Group, supporting Kiewit Nuclear Solutions.

This is a remote position that may require some travel.
Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Strategy
  • Drive the standardization and maturity of information management strategies, tools, and governance processes across all active and future projects.
  • Partner with technology leadership, engineering, and construction teams to align digital execution goals with project information requirements and tool capabilities.
  • Foster a collaborative and growth-oriented team culture, focusing on mentorship, performance management, and skills development.

Digital Project Management (Hands-On)
  • Collaborate with project leadership and stakeholders to define and implement digital delivery and information management plans.
  • Prepare materials for, facilitate, and lead multi-disciplinary workshops to define scope, metadata structure, lifecycle data, and handover requirements.
  • Analyze data and perform quality checks using SQL queries to ensure metadata integrity and readiness across systems like the Common Data Environment, staging environments, and reporting layers.
  • Act as a point of contact for engineering teams, completions, and material management groups to ensure data alignment across the digital ecosystem.

Governance & Data Quality
  • Implement and maintain governance processes for metadata validation, attribute completeness, document numbering standards, and tag management.
  • Track and report on progressive data maturity, identifying gaps and risks to ensure alignment with project milestones and client expectations.
  • Maintain and continuously improve data dictionaries, master tag registers, and mapping documentation.

Information Requirements & Strategy
  • Collaborate with project leadership, engineering, and data teams to define and document project information requirements.
  • Ensure alignment with industry standards (e.g., CFIHOS, ISO 15926) and client-specific digital delivery expectations.

Workshops & Collaboration
  • Plan, facilitate, and document outcomes from multi-disciplinary workshops aimed at defining scope, metadata, lifecycle information, and digital handover needs.
  • Lead clarification and alignment sessions with internal and external stakeholders to resolve data modeling, taxonomy, or integration challenges.

Support & Enablement
  • Provide ongoing support to project teams for digital tools, data workflows, and reporting strategies.
  • Assist in creating data management plans, guidance documents, training materials, and process diagrams to support adoption of digital delivery practices.

Reporting & Oversight
  • Track progress on information deliverables and flag risks to project management.
  • Coordinate periodic status reporting on information readiness and handover preparation.
  • Use SQL queries to access, validate, and analyze data stored in project databases (e.g., CDE, staging environments, or reporting layers).

Qualifications
Qualifications:
Educational Level: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Management, Construction Management, related disciplines or equivalent experience
Experience: Minimum 8-12 years of experience in large-scale energy, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
3 years in a digital delivery, data management, or integrated project information role.
At least 2 years of experience in a team leadership or supervisory capacity is preferred.
Prior experience in solution coordination, digital project delivery, and integrated digital delivery.
Knowledge of (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) EPC, or fabrication information lifecycles acquired through direct experience required
Required SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Experience in troubleshooting data issues and working with various teams in resolving issues / solving complex problems.
  • Must have knowledge, skills, and experience in secondary tools such as data management tools, project execution tools, and EPCC work processes.
  • Excellent written and strong oral communication skills.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Team Management: Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a team while managing priorities across projects.
  • Documentation: Ability to create and maintain clear, concise guidance and documentation to support project needs.
  • Data Governance: Experience implementing data validation rules, RDL alignment, and digital handover protocols.
  • SQL Proficiency: Demonstrated experience writing and optimizing SQL queries to retrieve, filter, and join datasets for validation, troubleshooting, and reporting purposes.
  • Data Analysis & Modeling: Ability to understand and map metadata structures, tag conventions, and document relationships across systems, including the use of SQL to interrogate these datasets.
  • Tools Proficiency: Proficient with Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) or equivalent tools, Power BI, and enterprise-level data platforms.
  • Workshop Facilitation: Skilled in planning and guiding cross-functional workshops to align on data and process requirements.
  • Requirements Gathering: Strong questioning and documentation abilities to capture and translate stakeholder needs into actionable requirements.
  • Communication & Interpersonal: Clear and professional communication with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Detail-Oriented: Precision in documentation, validation, and tracking of information and deliverables.
  • Proactive & Organized: Comfortable managing multiple priorities and self-initiating follow-ups across teams.

What a typical day looks like for this role:
  • Facilitating, leading, and participating in meetings and workshops with stakeholders and subject matter experts to document and support definition of specific business opportunities with processes / products.
  • Working with all disciplines to triage metadata gaps.
  • Reviewing data from third parties for alignment with company master data.
  • Meeting with the digital team to validate data flow and support reporting setup.
  • Supporting various analytical products with training, deployment, and enhancements.
  • Drafting summary notes and action items from a digital delivery working group session.
  • Cataloging, documenting, and testing business processes and recommending improvements.
