MUST HAVE:

  • 5+ Years Experience within HHS system (or other large healthcare or insurance entity) as a technical
  • business analyst
  • 5+ Years Proven ability to work successfully with technical and non-technical groups, and manage multiple responsibilities
  • 4+ Years Experience with Erwin and ERStudio data modeling tools or equivalent functional toolsets
  • 2+ Year Experience using Informatica Metadata Manager and Business Glossary
  • 2+ Years Experience in configuring and monitoring metadata services; management of Metadata Manager
  • 2 users, groups and roles
  • Strong Communication, analytical and interpersonal skills at all levels
  • Strong Ability to work on multiple projects or project assignments

PREFRENCES:

  • 3+ Years Experience facilitating productive meetings to formulate business requirements and
  • communicate stakeholder needs to technical staff
  • 3+ Years Experience working with full agile system development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Experience working with Texas Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) data and

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Technical Metadata Analyst position will report to the Director of the System Information and Asset Management team. This team is a part of the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) Information Technology team. This team helps improve data quality and supports data analytics. The objective of this team is to ensure Health and Human Services (HHS) data is accessible and trusted by business users to support data-driven decisions. The team also partners with key business areas to execute a roadmap of defined business value propositions. The position will work closely with the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) Center for Analytics and Decision Support, Enterprise Information Management (ElM) team. HHS has created a Metadata Repository using Informatica's Metadata Manager. Additionally, a HHS-wide change management framework has been established to collect source system metadata changes to support ongoing updates of the HHS Metadata Repository.

The Technical Metadata Analyst's responsibilities include:

Working with subject matter experts (SME) across agencies to collect and update technical metadata.

Load collected technical metadata in to the HHS Metadata Repository.

In-depth knowledge of the existing HHS Enterprise Metadata Repository implemented using lnformatica's Metadata Manager.

Perform outreach and communication with source systems to support change management automation adopted by source systems.

Reverse engineer data models to extract technical metadata.

Ensure data models collected from source systems adhere to the Data Modeling guidelines developed by the ElM team.

Review and assessment of the design, implementation and management of security access roles and privileges for all types of metadata consumers.

Identification and documentation of business processes.

Other duties as assigned.
